Chapter Five

Simon's POV

Scarlett sat in the back seat of my old and dying car. She was quiet, she looked plain and depressed.

"I know it's a lot to take in Scarlett" I say looking back at her.

She just sighed and continued to stare out of the window, watching the scenery as we quickly passed by.

"Scarlett please talk to me?" I pleaded trying to hold back the tears.

"How come I don't remember any of this? It's just like you're telling me another story," she asks still not bothering to look at me.

"We had Mangus do a memory spell on you," I reply.

"I don't even know who you are, Simon."

I was about to burst into tears right there but then I realised we were near the institute.

I pulled up right outside. I opened Scarlett's door for her. She looked up at me with sad eyes. Tears slowly falling down her pale cheeks.

She looked up at the institute.

"It's beautiful," she managed a smile and that's when I realised how much like her mother she looked like.

"Come on Clary."

Scarlett's POV

"Come on Clary," Simon says walking up to the institute.

"I'm..." I stopped. I didn't want to upset him any futher I had already hurt him enough.

I followed him up to the large beautiful doors to this so called 'Institute'.

Simon quickly knock loud onto the door.

After a few minutes of waiting in complete awkward silence the doors began to slowly open and their stood a tall handsome blonde hair boy with beautiful blue eyes.

"Hello Jace," Simon said.

So this was Jace. He was wearing a tight black t-shirt which showed off the outline of his muscles. His blonde hair that curled a little here and there was a little messy.

Jace Jr's POV

I opened the institute doors there was Simon and there standing next to him a beautiful girl. That had long red hair and a million freckles painted across her face.

She looked familiar. She was beautiful.

I didn't realise that Simon was trying to talk to me because I was staring at this unknown girl.

"Jace!" Simon shouted. "Jace!"

I shook my head, "Yeah?"

"This is Scarlett and I have a lot of explaining to do. First go and tell everyone to gather in the library," Simon demanded. "Now!"

Quickly, I ran into the kitchen were everyone was talking and eating.

"Simon wants us all in the library, right now," I told them all.

"What could he possibly want now?" Luke said getting up from his chair.

"He's brought a girl. Scarlett?"

"What!?" They all shouted in perfect unison.

"I'm going to kill him,"Alec said.

"Alec be nice!" Mangus said with a smile on his face.

"If you do anything to him Alec I'll kill you myself," Isabelle said giving him a stern look.

Everyone ran to the library.
