The intercom just announced that we were in Hogsmeade Station and I, along with the others, began gather our stuff. I put Midnight in her cage and smiled at her sadly as she meowed to me softly.
"Sorry girl! You have to be in there. I'll see you soon okay and try not to give the workers any trouble." I said before leaving the compartment with my friends. Albus led the way towards some boats just as a huge man with uncombed black hair was giving instructions to us, informing us that no more than four people in s boat which was perfect for us since they were only four of us in our group. We climbed into the boat with the boys seated in the front and Belle and I in the back. About halfway between the boat ride a huge tentacle appeared from the water surface and slammed down on a couple of other first years soaking them to the bone. A wave moved our boat back and forth and I held onto the sides tightly in slight fear of falling out, the others laughed at me making me frown and I got the bright idea to rock the boat back and forth making them grab for the sides immediatly. I smirked at their frowning faces before we burst out laughing earning us some glares from other boat riders. When we reached land and headed up to two large oak doors the giant man knocked on the door twice before a tall women in emerald robes and a black witch hat appeared, her face looked over us with a stern look before she dismissed the man and led of through the hall towards what I assumed led to the Great Hall. She turned to us and we all silenced.
"The start of the term banquet will begin shortly, but before you take your seats in the Great Hall, you will be sorted into your houses-" she started to inform with her stern look before continuing, "The sorting is a very important ceremony because, while you are here, your house will something like your family within Hogwarts. You will have classes with the rest of your house, sleep in your house dormitory and spend free time in your house common room," her green eyes landed on me for a moment before she continued, "The four houses are called Gryffindor... Hufflepuff...Ravenclaw...and Slytherin-" she spoke the last house with slight dislike. "Each house has its own noble history and each has produced outstanding witches and wizarded. While you are at Hogwarts, your triumphs will earn your house points, while any rule-breaking will lose house points. At the end of the year, the house with the most house points is awarded the House Cup, a great honour. I hope each of you will be a credit for whichever house becomes yours." She said a few more words before walking into the Great Hall leaving us whispering excitedly to each other. I saw a girl with a high blonde ponytail watching the four of us smudgly. Besides her were two boys with smirks on their faces.
"So it's true, what they are saying on the train. Albus Potter has come to Hogwarts!"
-----------------------------------------------------------
(A/n: sorry it this is like the movie encounter of Draco and Harry. I thought it would be more dramatic since the Cursed Child book doesn't really add that much detail)
-----------------------------------------------------------
I watched the girl who was watching us come forward and standing in front of Albus.
"This is Zabini and Parkison-" she pushed away from the stair rail and stood in front of us, " And I'm Chapman...Polly Chapman-" I snorted at her name earning a offended glare from the girl.
"Think my names funny don't you? No need to ask who you are; brown hair, freckles and fancy bracelets, you must be a Black!" She spat looking at me with hatred and I gladly returned the look. Belle and Scorpius were glaring at the girl ready to back me up if anything were to happen. Polly turned away from me and looked at Albus.
"You'll find that some wizarding families are better than others. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort, Ican help you there!" Chapman said sticking out her hand with a smile, and not a kind one. I looked at Albus and watched him take one look at her hand before glancing up to her with a frown.
"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks." He said declining her offer of friendship. Her smile turned into a frown and she glared at him with anger sparking in her eyes. I saw the women behind Chapman and smiled when she used a scroll to get her attention. Chapman gave us one last glare before returning to her little group.
"We're ready for you!" The women said before the Great Hall doors swung open and she led us through the center of the hall towards the front where a stool was with an old hat on it. She stopped and we gathered together in the front waiting as she stepped next to the stool.
"Now when I call your name you will come up and sit down and I will place the sorting hat on your head."
She turned her attention to the scroll and cleared her throat before calling up the first name.
"Rose Granger-Weasley."
Rose slowly went up the small marble stairs taking deep breaths and sitting down on the stool. The hat was placed on her hat for a minute before yelling out.
"GRYFFINDOR!"
The scarelet decored table erupted his whistles and cheers as Rose happily went to her house table and sat down with a very cheerful look.
"Tiffany Weasley." I glared at the girl who pushed me down in the train as she sat down with the hat on her head.
"GRYFFINDOR!"
I felt my mouth open in disbelief as the table erupted into another applause as she madd her way over to sit next to Rose.
"Scorpius Malfoy."
Scorpius looked at me and I gave his held a tight squeeze before he made his way up and sat down with a nervous look on his face as the hat came upon his head.
"SLYTHERIN!"
He gave a small smile and went off toward the Slytherin table as they erupted into cheers.
"Polly Chapman."
She smirks as she sits on the stool and before the hat even touched her hair it shouted.
"SLYTHERIN!"
I shrugged as the table cheered for her.
"Alice Longbottom."
A girl with very blonde hair and a dreamy look on her pale face made her way up to the stool and sat on the stool gently.
"RAVENCLAW!"
The girl hopped off and skipped over to her table as they cheered for their newest member.
"Belka Garcia."
Belle took a deep breath and sat o the stool.
"SLYTHERIN!"
She smiled and sat over with Scorpius as they look at us and waved.
"Annalise Black."
I looked at some whispers were spoken at the teachers table as I made my way and sat on the dusty stool. I felt the hat on my head and a different voice other than my own spoke in my head.
" Ah another Black, but your different. Much different than your siblings, more like your grandfather yes."
The voice spoke and I stared into space with confusion.
"Different? How? do you mean like grandfather Regulus?"
I asked them voice in my head.
"Yes, I remember when he was in your same position. Wanted nothing more than to please his parents and be the star pupil apart from his brother. Like him, you have a very ambitious and cunning personality. Smart yes, you get that from your mother but not enough for Ravenclaw. Not the nicest either, Hufflepuff is out of the question. But brave yes, enough for Gryffindor but I sense something different for your path...must be-"
I closed my eyes and awaited my fate.
"SLYTHERIN!"
The Slytherin table erupted into cheers and I made my way over to where I saw Belle and Scorpius high five each other before gethering me into a tight hug and we sat down. A few more were called before Albus, two Gryffindors, three Hufflepuffs, and one Ravenclaw.
"Albus Potter."
Albus made his way up with a blank look on his face as the hat was placed on his black hair. After a few seconds the hat shouted his house.
"SLYTHERIN!"
The Great Hall was silent before whispers were heard making Albus look around in confusion.
"Slytherin?" Chapman said with a confused look.
"Whoa! A Potter? In Slytherin?" Another said from the Gryffindor table as I got tired of it and stood up walking over to my friend to save him from a wave of whispering.
"Albus? But this is wrong, Albus. This is not how it's suppose to be." I heard Rose shout as I took his hand and pulled him with me to our table glaring at anyone who dared whisper about him. Slowly our table erupted into cheers as we sat down beside Scorpius and Belle. The professor rolled the scroll up and made her way to the headmistress seat in the middle of the teachers table. She lifted her arms and with a smile she said.
"Let the feast begin."
Food erupted from the golden platters and bowls on our table and ours eyes widened at all the food. I smiled and reached for the closet platter to me which was some mashed potatoes, I piled some onto my plate and put a spoonful of it into my mouth and closed my eyes at the deliciousness.
"It's so good!" I exclaimed with a mouthful of mashed potatoes. Albus smiled while Belle laughed as I put another thing of mashed potatoes into my mouth. It seemed forever until the food disappeared from our table and announced that dinner was over, my brother and a girl perfect led us from the Great Hall and down to the dungeons where our common room was. Some would complain of the cold but I thought it was amazingly perfect as I linked arms with Belle and Scorpius while Bella linked arms with Albus and the four of us walked down the cold and damp dungeons with the other Slytherins looking at us with either admiration, jealousy, or hatred. Either way we didn't care as we smirked in a way only true Slytherins would and some stood away from us in fear.
"The password is pureblood." My brother said before the painting of a snake opened and revealed the entrance to our common room. I gasped in excitement as we entered the common room, greens in all colors filled the room and most of the decor was silver or more green. The room was filled with a greenish-blue glow from the enchanted windows that showed the water that belonged to the Black Lake.
"Whoa!" Belle and I said in unison as a school of shimmering fish swam past the windows. Lupin stopped at some cobblestone stairs and turned to face us.
"These will lead you to your dorms. Girls on the left and boys on the right. Your names will be on the door next to your assigned dorm. Chop chop you all have a big day tomorrow!" He said and Belle and I waved to the boys as we went our separate ways. We passed by three dorm rooms looking for our names secretly hoping that we would get a dorm together. We stood in front of the fourth dorm and read down the list.
"McCoy." I stated in a bored voice.
"Chapman." Belle spat after me.
"Garcia!" I exclaimed suddenly excited.
"Black! Oh my gosh!" We hugged each other before opening the door and saw that only one other girl was in the room. She had short black hair and big brown eyes with slightly pale skin. She had black glasses and was currently reading Hogwarts a History.
"Hello! Are you McCoy?" Belle asked grabbing the girls attention. She smiled and nodded putting down her book.
"My name is Jessica. And you must be-" she ended there looking at us.
"Annalise and this is my friend Belle." I introduced finishing her sentence with a smile.
"Pleasure to meet you." She said and pointed to the green and silver four-post beds nearest to the window with an amazing clear view under the lake. In the distance I swear I saw a gigantic squid.
"I'd hurry and take those while you can before the other girl comes along." She suggested and returned to reading. Belle and I looked at each other confused then back at her.
"Don't you want one of the beds closer to the window, I mean it's only fair since you got here first." I pointed out. The girl shook her head and smiled.
"I'd rather not. I'm not really a big fan of being near windows looking out under lakes. Thank you though." She said and Belle and I shrugged our shoulders before going to our beds. Suddenly our trunks appeared along with our pets, I saw Midnight and ran towards her cage immediatly taking her out and holding her close. She meowed in delight at the sight of me and purred against me as I touched noses with her playfully.
"Hey girl! I'm sorry I left you in the hands of those strangers." I said in a motherly voice and I smiled as she sadly meowed in response, making me smile. I sat on my bed and left Midnight curled up in my lap as I looked over to Belle and saw her holding a Siamese cat with blue eyes much similar to Midnight's.
"Whose is my good girl?" I heard Belle ask her cat in a playful voice as her cat responded with a meow and licked Belle's nose making her giggle.
"That's such a beautiful cat!" I complemented Belle's cat making Midnight lift her head at me and meow with jealousy. I laughed lightly and looked at my companion.
"Not as beautiful as you though, my sweet Midnight." I assured her making Belle laugh at the scene.
"What's her name?" I asked looking at the sleeping Siamese on Belle's bed.
"Thalia!" She said putting on her PJ's which were pale pink. I pet Thalia on her back and watched her she purred and arched her back when I went near her tail bone and meowed when I tried to stop. I lifted myself off my her bed and decided to put one my white silk pajamas on before slipping underneath my covers . Belle slipped into bed as well with Thalia sleeping at on top of her wardrobe with her tail swinging back and forth slowly. I smiled as Midnight slowly crawled over to me and curled up in my side falling asleep quicker than I could say mouse.
I looked up at my ceiling with a smile on my face thinking about all the wonderful event that occured that day before feeling my eyelids fullityering shut and allowing me to fall into a deep sleep.
