Jealousy

Your beauty,

Is my demise,

Your soft, alluring lips

Your carefully placed hugs

The way your dimples show whenever you smile

I see the way others stare at you

How their eyes flick up and down

How they pretend to listen while licking their filthy lips

You know it too

You know how it bothers me

How I get borderline jealous everytime I see you flirt back

How they giggle and bat their eyelashes

Asking for dates

Or time to hang out

Sometimes I almost think it’s too much

But I realize

It’s all a business facade

You just flirt back

And strike a deal

Doesn’t make it any better though

I wonder at night

Does he really love me?

Will he ever run off with one of them?

He flirts with them so much it seems likely

But then I have to also remind myself

He isn’t interested in them

Because he’s interested in me

He isn’t in a relationship with

Because he’s in one with me

Does that make it any better?

No it doesn’t

Just makes it more bearable
