Finally Free

Depths of water consume me,

Finally I am free.

Here and there I hear my name,

But to us slaves were all the same.

Better to die today than live for tomorrow.

Within clock-works home, no time to borrow.

My time has come finally at last,

Death wont judge us for our past.

Iam welcomed into a warm embrace,

God has brought us to this wonderful place.

I was a slave, now I’m free.

The depths of the ocean engulf me.

I wrote this for black history month last year.
