Owen...that guy was something.
Every time the bullies gang up on him, she couldn't bear to watch. No one ever cared about him, much less notice him. She was the only one who actually did.
There he was, on the ground, eyes emotionless. His face, arms and legs were all covered in scratches and bruises, but that didn't stop Wendy from looking at him like an amazing person.
Wendy, still staring at Owen, did not notice the bully approaching her at first.
The boy walked over to her, but she kicked and stepped on his foot twice till he got hurt. "Hey! What was that for, girl? And just now you were staring at me. What for?"
"Owen! You alright?" Wendy ran over to him and hugged him, showing that boy that she only fell for Owen.
Owen was still there, unable to move, but a smile started to form on his face. "I'm okay, peaches."
Wendy sat up and stopped hugging him. "Did you just call me 'peaches'?"
"Yeah. If it's the last time I'm seeing you, I love you, Peaches, and you're gonna love me back. Hear that?" Owen said softly.
"But-"
"Watch your six'."
