It was yet another night you were sat alone waiting for Lewis to get home. He had text you saying he was 10 minutes away, 30 minutes later you are sat at the dinner table alone eating dinner. You started to clear up your plate when you heard the door open "i'm home" Lewis said sitting down at the table tucking into his dinner. "Finally" you said salty. "Well I couldn't help it I had to drop by the factory" Lewis stated. "Sorry it's just I feel like I never see you and when I do it's late at night or just as you're about to leave." You said while getting upset.

You had been with Lewis since he started F1 and the first few years you went to every race but you had a job that required you to be available the majority of the time, meaning you couldn't travel with Lewis. You wanted to go everywhere with him and support him but you couldn't. You've been meaning to have this talk with him for a few weeks. You feel like he needs someone to be there for him, someone who will travel with him, someone he can be around all the time.

"Lew, we need to talk" you said sitting next to him. "I know" Lewis knew they had to talk because he has felt the same for a while now. "I think we need to break up, don't get me wrong Lew I love you but we aren't right for each other." You said while looking down holding back your tears. "I know but I need you Y/N, we've been through everything together. You are my first love, my first everything." Lewis defended. "Yes but I want a family, to settle down, we both need someone who is going to be around for one another". Everything you were saying was right, you wanted to settle down and start a family but Lewis didn't.

Once Lewis had finished eating you both moved onto the sofa to continue the talk. "This is so hard for me Lew but we aren't compatible" you said. "What about these past 11 years" Lewis started to get annoyed. "They mean everything to me, I will look back and see how happy I was with you..."  "Why end it now if you say you're happy" Lewis interrupted. "Because I'm no longer happy, do you think I enjoy being at home alone almost every weekend and if you aren't racing you're at the factory." You defended. "Come with me then to the races" Lewis said. "I can't Lewis, my job" lewis understood how much your job meant to you as you have worked so hard to get where you are now. He couldn't ask you to quit your job because he could never quit his job at this point in time. "So what does this mean" Lewis started to get upset. A single tear rolled down your face "tomorrow I'm going back to my parents house. In years to come you'll be with this amazing woman who will travel everywhere with you and you can share the amazing experiences with her" you started to get really upset as that's what you used to do with Lewis. "That woman will never be you" Lewis looked to the floor to hide himself crying. You placed your hand on top of his "this is hard for me too but you know where I'm coming from." Lewis nodded as he did agree with everything you said.

"Can we just lay together for one last time" Lewis said laying down on the sofa. "Of course" you said cuddling up to him. You started to share all the memories you had together, all the dates, arguments, fun times, sad times and all the time you spent together. "I love you Y/N" Lewis said, "forever and always" you said back. You started to cry, "don't cry, this is another chapter in our lives. You are going to meet an amazing man and you'll have amazing babies." Lewis said getting a lump in his throat as he wanted this with you just not now. You laughed through tears hugging Lewis closer.

That night was filled with a lot of tears but you and Lewis loved each other, you just where two different people living two very different lives.
