It's been three weeks since Alex went missing, and I knew Draco was behind it. I called Ron to give him an update last week, and was astonished to hear that Hermione had given birth to twins. Hugo and Rose Granger-Weasley. "The more you care, the more you have to lose." I sighed into the phone. "It's been almost three weeks, and I haven't heard anything." I cried.

"I wish I knew how to help, but with the twins and work. I don't think I have the time to leave, right now. And I would offer for you to come stay here for the time being, but we don't have room in the house. Sorry, Harry." Ron rambled, hanging up the phone before I could get out a response. I huffed and threw my phone at the couch. I was getting frustrated with Draco's efforts to get me back. I tried to call the police, but nothing happened. They never opened an investigation or anything. Groaning, I picked my phone up and unblocked the number to call it.

"Harry, my love. I'm glad you've finally come to your senses and called." Draco's smile was shining through the phone and it made me sick. "Alexander, it's Harry. He's finally called." I could hear Alex muttering angrily in the background.

"What do you want from me, Draco? Let Alex go, he isn't part of this. This is our problem, not his." I fought. Draco chuckled, and I could practically hear him shake his head at me. I heard the movement of something metal and my breath hitched as I could hear the cocking of the gun. "Are you fucking kidding me, Draco? Don't shoot him!" I cried out.

"Why not? The only reason you called is because of him. If it wasn't for him, you would be here in my arms again. We could be happy again." He started to cry, but I wasn't having it. I grabbed my jacket and left the apartment.

"Where are you? I'll come. We can be happy again." I lied. I grit my teeth as he gave me an address and an empty promise to let Alex live as long as I was on my way. I thought about calling a cab, but realized it would be a $40 fare so I went on foot. I ran as fast as my legs would carry. What should have been an hour ended up being forty minutes as I crashed into the door of the building. "Let me in, Draco." I pounded my fist against the door until I heard it unlock. Standing in front of me was the man I couldn't stand. I wanted to shoot him, but he was the one with the gun.

"Oh, come in. You'll catch your death out there." He ushered me in and took my coat to hang up. I followed him to what I assumed to be a living room and cried out when I saw Alex sitting limp in a chair. His arms and legs were still tied up, but you couldn't hide the gunshot wound that pierced the back of his head. "Oh, him. Right. Sorry about that. I was going to let him live, I promise. But once we got off the phone, he got mouthy and pissed me off. So I shot him." Draco shrugged. I stood up and jumped to punch him in the face, but he had gotten much stronger while he was away in prison.

"Let me go." I cried softly, giving up on fighting as he wrapped his hands around me. "I loved him..." My heart broke. Draco let me go and I fell to my knees, unsure if I would ever stop crying.

"You loved me at one point, too." He said coldly. "We were engaged." Draco reached into his pocket and threw the ring at me. "I kept it, like an idiot. I thought you would wait for me. I was sure you would wait for me. I love you so much, Harry. Why didn't you love me back? Why don't you love me back?"
