5 months

The TARDIS was quiet as the two slept next to each other. The feeling of being cuddled next to one another, the sounds of their soft breaths, the soft touch of one another and the sweet and safe smell of each other had a calming affect on each person.

She used to have nightmares about her past but when she had slept next to him for the first time, cuddled into his chest and his gentle arms wrapped around her had stopped the dreams. Tonight was different. The dream had crept in quietly and unexpectedly like a lion about to attack it's prey. She woke up suddenly, being cradled in his arms and him wiping the tears from her face. She looked up at him with a frightened yet sad look across her face. He kissed her forehead gently reassuring her that everything will be okay.

(30 minutes later)

He walks into the kitchen quietly leaning on the door frame. She was in the TARDIS kitchen fixing herself tea. She didn't want to talk to him for some reason.

"Can I have some also?" He asks her

She glances back at him and nods and starts to fix him a cup of tea also. He moves over and sits in his chair at the little table that they shared on a daily basis. She finishes making them tea, making his just how he always liked, then brings it to him and sits at the table with him. She looks down at her tea and takes a sip.

"River, what's wrong?" He asks her softly and reaches a gentle hand over and grabs her hand.

She looks up at him and then forces a smile on her face.

"Nothing's wrong, sweetie." She says

"I can tell when something is wrong,Melody, please tell me. I just want to help you and be there for you. I'm your husband, and I will always be here for you no matter what happened in that dream." He says softly, looking into her beautiful hazel green eyes which has little flakes of golden mixed in also.

She looks down and sighs then looks up at him. "They took our daughter,Clara. In my dream...they took her just like they took me away from my mother. I-I can't let her be taken away...I told myself that if we ever had a child i would never let that happen because it was just so horrible...and I just felt like I'd sound silly to tell you that I had a dream about that..and I was scared...and I still am. I can't let them take her." She says softly with tears welling up in her eyes. She never wanted anyone to have to experience what she did. But she really didn't want her own daughter to experience that. Korvarian is a heartless woman and she knew she would do anything to silence the doctor.

He got up and walked over to her and gently pulled her chair out then kneeled in front of her on one knee and grabbed her hands into his and looked her in her her beautiful yet frightened eyes.

"No one is ever going to take our daughter away from us. Because if they do they better watch out because I'm coming. And it's not going to be pretty. But our daughter will always be safe." He says softly and places a hand gently on her stomach. "I promise." He adds softly.

She looks at him and sighs softly, still unsure of what the future holds for them or their daughter. She puts a hand on his hand then nods "okay." She says softy

He gives her a kind smile and brings his lips to gently meet hers and she leans down a bit, making it easier to kiss him. His lips always melted her problems away. If there was one thing that could fix her problems it was him.

She pulled away from the kiss and kisses his forehead gently then places her forehead on his, closing her eyes, and running a hand through his coffee brown hair, which was soft to the touch.

He closes his eyes for a moment and brings a reassuring hand to her cheek and rubs gentle circles on it with his thumb. She opens her eyes slowly and looks at him, he now has his eyes open also.

"Can we-" she's cut off by movement in her stomach. She quickly takes his hand and places it where their daughter is moving inside of her.

He smiles instantly at the feeling if their daughter moving inside of her. "She's pretty active for this stage in the pregnancy." He says with a grin "but that is because she is timelord. She will learn and grow a bit quicker than the normal human child." He says.

She smiles and laughs soft "I wonder if I was an active baby.." She says with curious look in her face

"You probably were considering the fact that number one, you are you mothers daughter-"

He was cut of by River "Doctor!"

"What?!" He asks with wide eyes, thinking something is wrong.

"We haven't told my parents that we are having a baby! They are going to kill me!" She says realizing that her parents have no clue that they are going to be grandparents

"They are going to kill you?! River, if they are going to be killing anyone it's going to be me for getting you pregnant." He says then thinks for a moment " what if your dad has his sword? Maybe you should tell them and I'll stand behind you." He says, making up a plan in his head.

"Doctor the minute they see me they're going to know that I'm pregnant. But I don't think they'll be too mad once they find out they're going to be grandparents...I think they'll be more excited than anything." She says with a soft laugh then kisses his forehead gently.

"Well go visit them tomorrow, okay?" He says with a smile

River nods "okay."

"Let's go get some sleep, I mean it is still sort of the middle of the night." He says, standing up and holding her hand to help her up also.

She gets up with him but before they move, she let's her lips gently move to his.

He is a bit caught off guard for a moment, but kisses her back, gently putting his hands on her waist.

She puts her hands on the back of his arms and gently caresses him. She pulls away slowly with a smile and gives his cheek a soft kiss "come on, let's go to bed." She says as she takes his hand into hers and starts walking to their room. When they get to their room she let's go of his hand and crawls into bed and lays down, snuggling underneath the blankets.

He gets into bed next to her, her back is facing him when he is laying on his side, looking at her. He softly wraps his arms around and snuggles in next to her and kisses her her shoulder gently. "I promise you, my melody, that nothing is ever going to happen to our daughter...and no one is ever going to take her." He says in hushed tone, yet so reassuringly.

She smiles softly and sighs peacefully as she glances back at him "good." She says softly then closes her eyes gently and falls asleep almost instantly.

He closes his eyes and listens to the soft patterns if her breathing. Having her close to him always helped him feel more peaceful, even after those times when she had tried to kill him. He loved her and there was no doubting. Other could tell how much he loved her and how much she loved him just by the way they looked at each other. They may have been an odd looking couple but there was no questions about whether their love for each other was real. Although all things will end there was one thing that didn't. And that thing was love. Their Love.
