Vol. I - Part 12 [Advices & a small trip]

Hello my dudes, I'm back with another chapter. Just here to tell you that I may change a few things in the book, not the story itself but the organization of the chapters i could say. Anyway i still have to think about it, but enough talking and let's continue our story!

You are currently on your hammock trying to sleep since tomorrow you will be going to Forever Fall with professor Glynda Goodwitch. Unfortunately you can't get any sleep, probably for excitement you guess. After a few minutes you decide to get off your hammock and go take a walk, reached the door of your dorm, you were about to open it but stop hearing two familiar voices.

Ruby: "So, where have you been lately?"

Jaune: "I uh... I messed up. I did something i shouldn't have and now Cardin's got me on a leash and Pyrrha won't even talk to me... *sigh* i'm starting to think that coming to this school was a bad idea"
You then hear something slowly sliding down.

Jaune: "I'm a failure"

Ruby: "Nope"

Jaune: "Nope?"

Ruby: "Nope. You're a leader now, Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure"

Jaune: "But, what if i'm a failure at being a leader?"

Ruby: "Hmm... nope"
Jaune laughs a bit before replying.

Jaune: "You know, you're not the easiest person to talk about this kind of stuff"

Ruby: "Nope! Jaune maybe you were a failure when you were a kid, and you might've even been a failure the first day we met, but you can't be one now. You know why?"

Jaune: "uuuuh, because-"

Ruby: "Because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now, Jaune. We both do. And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us. We have to put your teammates first, and ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And i think that can be you. Have a good night Jaune"

She then walks inside your room and closes the door behind her. When she looks towards the window, she sees you standing in front of it with a big smile on your face.

Ruby: "Aren't you supposed to be asleep by now?"

You: "Well, mom. I couldn't help but hear your magnificent conversation with Jaune. Well, i would say that i'm quite surprised that all of that came from you"

Ruby: "Well... thanks, i guess..."
She starts to walk towards her bed but you stop her by placing a hand on her shoulder

You: "But i also want you to know that if you ever need help, with anything then you can count on your team, ok?"

You then warmly smile at her, making her slightly blush. Luckily for her you couldn't notice since it was pretty dark in the room.

Ruby: "Hm ok. *Yawn* We should really get some sleep now"

You: "Yeah we should"

[TIMESKIP]

You and the others had just arrived Forest of Forever Fall with the rest of your other classmates. While walking you were clearly pleased with Ruby's reaction to the various red leaves and grass.

Glynda: "Yes students, the Forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful, but we are not here to sight see. Professor Peach has asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep inside this forest, and I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so"

Glynda then suddenly stops and turns back to face you. You then hear some jars moving and looking back you see Jaune whistling while Cardin looks at him slightly angered.

Glynda: "Each of you is to gather one jar worth of red sap. However, this forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here by 4 o'clock. Have fun!"

You then all smile to each other.

You: "Come on then, let's get going!"

With this team RWBY and JNPR except for Jaune start walking through the forest. Once you all got on a good spot you all start to extract the red sap from the trees.

After a bit you managed to extract enough sap to fill three jars so you decided to take a quick walk hoping that Nora doesn't drink any of your sap. In the meantime crouched on a hilltop were team CRDL and Jaune are overlooking all the students. Their sight then goes over you and Pyrrha who seems to be chatting about something.

Jaune: "Cardin, wh-what's going on?"

Cardin: "Payback"
Jaune's eyes began to widen in understanding the situation.

Jaune: "P-Pyrrha, [Y/n]?"

Cardin: "Yeah, Red-haired know-it-all thinks she's so smart and that smart ass idiot protector-of-the-filthy-faunuses. Alright boys.."
Cardin then pulls out a small box with a 'W' on it.

Cardin: "Last night, old Jaune here managed to round up an entire box of Rapier Wasps, and now, we're gonna put them to work"
Russel grabs Jaune by the shoulder, who laughs nervously.

Cardin: "Now, according to one of the essays you wrote for me last week, these nasty things just loooove sweets"

Jaune then looks at both you and Pyrrha as she finished collecting her sap.

Cardin: "I'm thinking it's time we teach them a thing or two"

Team CRDL then gets up and Cardin 'helps' Jaune to get up and puts a jar full of red sap in his hands.

Cardin: "And you're gonna do it"

Jaune: "Do what?"

Cardin: "Hit them with the sap and the wasps will do the rest!"
He then leans in close to Jaune's face

Cardin: "Either that, or I'll have a chat with Goodwitch, and you'll be on the first airship out of Beacon"

Jaune looks down at the jar of sap in his hands and then up at the four grinning teammates waiting to see what happens. Jaune turns towards the group and aims his throw at you and Pyrrha, unknown that someone has been watching the five males for a while now.

Lucas (thinking): "I swear, i will break Cardin's legs before we get back at Beacon"

You then nod at Pyrrha both of you smiling. Jaune's hand is clearly shaking, he then realizes what he's doing and stops.

Jaune: "No."

Cardin: "What did you say?"

Jaune: "I said... NO!"

Jaune then turns back and throws the jar at Cardin covering the chest piece of his armor with red sap.

Cardin: "Oh oh oh... you've done it now..."

Realizing what's about to happen as team CRDL drags Jaune away, Lucas walks towards you and after a little explanation you both run into the forest.
