A/n: I know I should be updating on a weekend but the update I updated this weekend was not related to the fanfic so I wrote an update for u guys today. U guys deserve it. Enjoy~

Y/n sat on her desk with the usual bored expression on her face waiting for her home room teacher to come in. She knew what was gonna happen, the sports festival. It was today.
She signed looking at her hands resting on her lap. She didn't want to look up. Knowing that she is in the same room as todoroki Shouto and bakugo katsuki. She hated the awkwardness between them.
She has been avoiding bakugo for the last few days, despite his attempts to get close to her. Todoroki on the other hand was avoiding y/n, after witnessing how close bakugo is trying to get to y/n.
The h/c hair colored girl had enough drama going on in her life. She wanted it all to stop. To get away from UA and all these guys. To live a normal live. But fate wasn't on her side. It never was.
A certain bubbly brunette walked up to y/n's desk, placing her hand on the h/c hair colored female's shoulder, shaking it slightly. Y/n was snapped out of her chain of thoughts. She looked up to meet ochako's eyes.
Ochako gleefully smiled. "Are you ready for the sports festival l/n-San?" She giddily asked as the other female chuckled at her childish behavior "of course I am Uraraka-San" y/m replied which caused the brunette to smile.
"Good cause we're leaving in ten minutes" she said bouncing as her curls bounced along.
"Ten minutes?!"
~time skip~
You and your classmates arrived at the sports festival. It was rather loud. Cheers could be heard from every corner. It held a cheerful yet competitive aura, which stroke determination in the students of UA. Everyone was pumped.
You on the other hand hid in your hood of your hoodie that you requested the UA staff to let you take, because of your stage fright. It was an embarrassing insecurity of yours but your classmates found it rather cute, especially a multi-haired male.
You were all waiting for present mic to call you guys to the ground. "AND HERE COMES THE BRAVE AND VICTORIOUS CHILDREN THAT HAVE NOT ONLY EXPERIENCED NOT ONE BUT MANY VILLAINS' PRESENCE BUT ALSO FOUGHT THEM OFF WITHOUT ANY FEAR. LADIES AND GENTLEMAN I PRESENT TO YOU CLASS 1A!!!!"
"That's our que!" Tenya yelled as all of you marched onto the battlefield. The crowd erupted into cheers and you kept your head low. Present mic kept on announcing the other classes but you didn't pay attention.
The cheers from the crowd made you nervous as you hid rather desperately from them. Soon enough all of the classes from UA were gathered on the ground and then there stood midnight-sensei... Revealing as ever.
She explained the first test, an obstacle course race. Just like the name states, it's a race with obstacles in it. She explained that as long you keep inside bounds you can do anthing. You smiled slightly at that knowing that you can use your quirk freely. After all it's super speed.
Your classmates looked at you. And mainly you. They all had worried faces. "What?" You asked with a poker face as Ashido started to whine. "No fair! L/n-chan's quirk is basically made for this test!" She childishly pouted.
"I might be the fastest runner.... But there's always a catch..." You muttered. The students looked at you in confusion, mostly the dumb ones. "I mean there's always a disadvantage at being first place... God why are you all so dumb..." It was your turn to whine.
Present mic's voice cut out yours and Ashido's childish behavior. "RACERS ON YOUR MARKS!" He screeched. You and the other competitors marched towards the starting line, ready for the test.
"READY. GET. SET. GO!" Present mic announced as all you were trying to squeeze your way through the tunnel like structure. 'God it's so suffocating' you thought trying to squeeze you way out of the narrow path.
You finally got out ready to face the next obstacle. Suddenly the robots from the entrance exam started to block your path. One even charged at you but then it froze. You got confused for a moment but then signed in realization 'It's that dude...' You thought referring to todoroki.
He slipped his way through the robots by making an ice pathway, but you noticed the robots were in a weird position. If they were to thaw..... 'Oh shit..' You thought.
"TODOROKI TAKES THE LEAD."
And soon enough they did thaw. You out ran as many robots and you could and you succeeded to get pass them. You raced your way towards the next obstacle even surpassing todoroki.
"AS EXPECTED FROM A GIRL WHO'S QUIRK IS SUPER SPEED. Y/N-CHAN IS GOING FOR IT."
You halted at a huge pit. It had circular rocks in it, reaching the levee top. It was a hard obstacle. You signed. 'Guess I have no choice'
You starting to move your legs as fast as you could, lifting yourself of the ground and literally floating towards the other end of the pit. You hadn't done that in years. You soon enough reached the other end smiling in satisfaction.
By now you forgot all about the crowd tags was watching you or present mic's mocking commentary, or even the disadvantage of being top, you were only focused on being first place. Your confidence levels had boosted as you were determined to win.
Your eyes gleamed with determination as you raced towards the last obstacle of the race. It was a mine field. Not a real one of course. You smirked. 'This is going to be easy..'
What you didn't realize was that bakugo and todoroki were close behind. You out ran every mine that blowed up because of you, giving trouble to the racers behind you.
You were still first place but a certain 'boom' caused you to turn back and see what happened. And there there it was, midoriya flying past you, going for the finish line.
You gritted your teeth together charging towards the finish line in full speed. So fast that even naked eyes couldn't notice you. Midoriya set off another mine causing him to beat you by a mere inch. He beat you. You were second place.
You stopped abruptly at the finish line panting. Despite being second place you smiled. Yes you smiled as you turned towards midoriya. You held out your hand for him to shake "it was a nice race. Guess the tortoise always wins in the end!" You gleefully remarked not being bothered by getting second place despite your quirk. 'At least I wasn't beaten by one of those bastards'
"Heh?! You t-think I'm a t-tortoise y/n-San?" Midoriya shrieked as you quickly reacted by swatting your hand in a left right motion, regretting what you just said. "No I didn't mean it like that, a tortoise is smart and you were pretty clever back there..." You covered up nervously.
Midoriya blushed at the compliment muttering a 'thankyou' before Uraraka showed up to congratulate his win. Present mic was announcing the winners but you weren't paying attention to him.
Shouto'a eyes were glued on you. You ignored his gaze as you walked up to katsuki keeping an expression less face. He shot up at your sudden appearance.
"What the fuck do you want?!" He screeched as you smiled slightly. "Congrats on getting 3rd place.." You said patting his shoulder. He flinched because of the contact. A small tint of pink dusted his cheeks as he bashfully thanked you and quickly walked away, looking pissed again. Typical bakugo.
You still felt todoroki's eyes on you as you turned around to meet his. You didn't know why he was avoiding you. He want to help you on the first place. He even wanted to fake date you.
"Guys are confusing...." You muttered, running a hand through your hair, getting ready for the second test.
