"Well he did lose a lot of blood and was out for a while..." The doctor spoke to me looking over the strangers chart.

When the ambulance arrived I told them I was his sister and got in. I wasn't sure why I'd done it but I just couldn't leave this guy out there alone.

"Right now he is stable," he threw on a small smile as too lift my spirits, "you can see him now,"

I nodded and followed the tall pale faced man through the hospital as he left me at the room. I stood there momentarily looking at the door before I pushed it opened.

The stranger was lying flat partially under the white hospital issued sheets. His eyes were closed and there was an ivy as well as another machine hooked up to him.

The room was absolutely silent except for the beeping machine as I slowly made my way in, closing the door behind me.

I sat down at a chair near his bed. I had no idea why I was still here, or even why I had bothered to come. I did not know this man. And if he woke up with me still in here what would I say?

I chewed my nails and looked around at the plain hospital walls for what seemed like ever. My phone buzzed in my coat pocket.

Checking the LCD I saw Lawrence flashing.

I rolled my eyes.

After that nigga dipped off at the party that HE invited me to leaving me there to walk he had the audacity to call.

I hit ignore and slipped it away.

The body lying in the bed stirred causing me to turn my head in his direction.

After a second of groans and grunts the strangers eyes slowly opened and he took in his surroundings.

I watched him silently.

He looked around the room before his eyes landed on me.

The stranger kept his eyes on me studying my face with a question in his eyes.

I cleared my throat, "I..um..found you. I call 911,"

He nodded but didn't speak again and all I could do was look at his side profile.

He was light skinned. Defined jaw bones, and faint freckles. His full pink lips seemed to pull me in and I found myself wishing I could kiss him.

I shook my head popping out of daydream causing the strange man to look over at me.

He gave me a questionable stare before turning his head back in the opposite direction.

I pulled my phone out and looked at the time: 2:16.

I had been sitting here waiting for this guy to wake up for over an hour and he had nothing to say. Not even a simply thank you.

"Did they say when I could get outta here?" He asked looking at me.

I shook my head leaning back further in the chair and began bitting my nails.

"Well are you gonna find out?" His comment was rude and abrupt. I locked eyes with his, my finger still in my mouth and stared at him blankly.

I no this nigga ain't talking to me! I thought.

Slowly pulling my hand from my face I rolled my eyes, "why don't you find the fuck out?"

He smack his lips.

"Who the fuck are you anyway?" He demanded.

I stood than preparing to leave him, "the idiot that call the fucking ambulance and saved your god damn life," I told him making my way to the door.

Just as snatched it back the doctor stood there preparing to come in.

"I see your woke," he walked past me not taking note of my snarling expression and went up to the bastard that I was stupid for helping.

"Your sister," the doctor commented, "stayed here quite long waiting for you."

The strangers eyes met mine and they flashed appreciation but soon turned into the cold black orbs I'd just encountered.

"...Well," the doctor continued pulling back my attention as well as the stranger's lying in the bed, "everything seems fine. But we're going to keep you at least over night until your stable."

He looked over to me, "the nurse will bring you a blanket and pillow of you'd like,"

My body was slumped back on the hall, I quickly stood up lifting my eyes to meet his wondering if I should or not.

"It's very late," the doctor commented.

I nodded, "okay," before slowly slumping back down into the chair I had been in.

The doctor made a few more comments before closing the door behind himself and leaving me to the stranger...

I could feel his eyes burning a hole through my face but I didn't look at him for a long time.

"Why'd you stay so long?" He asked into the silence.

My eyes ventured up his face, passing his little chin hair, and maneuvering over his plump lips before I locked eyes with him.

With I shrug I told him, "well I couldn't just leave you here...."

He didn't respond. So I didn't say anything more.

Soon the nurse came in with a warm smile and gave me the blanket with a pillow before asking the stranger if he needed anything.

He nodded no and she left us in the same silence.

"What is your name?" Asked out of curiosity.

The stranger looked at me asking the question 'why?' with his eyes.

"Never mind," I muttered once I realized he was not going to answer.

I stood and opened the chair to its pull-out position before spreading the sheet I'd just received and placing the pillow down.

I kicked off my shoes and coat placing it on the side table before snuggling back into a laying position under the thin cover.

I could feel his eyes on me the entire time. I closed my tired lids preparing to sleep when he mumbled some words.

"Huh?" I asked.

My eyes meet his and he hesitated before saying.

"Chris,"

"...Kirrah," I responded using the same one word method like him.

Then with my eyes re-closed I drifted to sleep. Leaving Chris awake.
