Fake smiles and fake laughs can fool anyone, but your mother. When I had my first heartbreak, I played it cool, like I didn't care. But my mother saw past that. She saw how much it hurt me and broke me.
She would cradle me in her arms like I was still her little baby, she would let me cry in her arms. She would rub my back and smoothed down my hair, telling me that everything is going to be okay and that I'll be able to love again, even though I thought I wouldn't.
And she was right, I did find love again. But then I lost it. Then I found it, then I lost it again. And right now, I've given up on the idea of love.
He's broke me. He's broken my heart and I don't think I'll ever be able to repair it.
I've stopped my pathetic crying over a guy that said there will never be an us. 1 week later, waking up this morning and drilled into my head, that was never going to be anything. Carter and Sophia will never happen.
Sitting up in my bed, I fix my top and walk towards the curtains and pull them open letting the bright light into my room. Pushing the window open, I let out a small sigh at the morning breeze that entered my room.
For some stupid reason, I'm still in the Collins mansion. I haven't gone back to Elijah's and I'm glad I haven't, I'd rather let Elijah live his life, without having to worry about me. That cold-hearted bastard needs to move on. I smile to myself and let out a laugh thinking about Elijah with a girl.
After taking a long shower, I decided to actually do something that has nothing do with gangs or fighting. I wanted to meet up with my family's lawyer and go through everything which is rightfully mine.
I've thought long and hard about whether or not I should give some of them business to Jake. He was never really interested in the family businesses, so I doubt he'd want it.
After having a long shower, I get changed and walk downstairs. It's just turned 11 am.
"Jake," I say as I walk into the kitchen, he sits at the dining table, with Jacob in between him and Harper. My older brother looks up and me and raises a brow.
"Can we talk?"
"Sure. . ."
"In private," I add. He nods and wipes his hand. Harper looks up at me, before going back to feeding Jacob. I give a smile to Elizabeth and John before making my way out the kitchen with Jake behind me.
I did my best to not let my eyes wander to Carter and Emily who sat at the table, talking. With there hand inter-winded.
"What's up?" He asks as we reach the empty living room.
"I'm going to meet with our family lawyer today, to go over everything mom and dad left us," I say and continue. "Since the lawyer thought you were. . . gone too. Everything is in my name. I was just wondering whether or not, you wanted any part of the business."
He immediately shakes his head, "I don't want any of it. You can sell it for all I care."
I'm taken back by his words. "I'm not selling it."
"Then do what you want with it."
"Jake, I'm only asking you, because. . ." I don't actually have a valid reason for asking him. "Because I'm just asking."
"Well, I don't want anything to do with it. It old dad when I left for university, I want to create my own business, not have something handed down to me."
"Okay." I nod my head and walk out the door.

A good couple of hours later, I've sorted mad know the information I want to know. My dads assistant sitting next to me, with the lawyer in front of us.
"Thank you so much." I stand up and shake the lawyer's hand. We bid our goodbyes and walk our separate ways.
"I need you to get the jet ready for Friday, I'll flying out to London to meet with the mangers my dad has the hotels there," I tell Lola, my dads assistant. She nods her head and begins to jot it down.
"Also, inform everyone at the welfare building, that I'll be there tomorrow," I tell her as we walk to my car. "I want to introduce myself, and tell them of some of the changes."
We stop at my car, "is there any of my dad important. . . People I should know of?"
"Apart from his mistress, no." She shrugs before her eye widen and she looks up at me alarmed.
"My dad mistress?" I question.
"No, no that's not what I said." She nervously chuckles.
"My dad was cheating on my mom," I say as I come to the realisation. "Tell me the truth."
"Her Name is Cindy Mordent. She's from New York. As far I know, she was your father first love. They even have a child together." She squeaks and lowers her head.
"Who else knows?" I clench my fists.
"Jake does. But his father made him promise he wouldn't tell anyone because it could be dangerous. I don't exactly know what he meant by that. But we were both sworn to secrecy."
"Jake knows?"
"Yes, he does."
"Where can I find this Cindy?"
"As far as I know, she went awol since her husband found out."
"Who's her husband?"
"I really shouldn't tell you." She rubs her thumbs together.
"I could ruin your life, with a single phone call. Tell me."
"His name Angelo knight."
"Levi's brother," I mutter in disbelief. "Where does he work?"
"Oh," she laughs nervously, looking around. "You don't want to get involved with Angelo. I heard that he's dangerous. He's part of a mafia organisation."
I sighed running a hand through my hair. "Alright, make sure the jets ready by Friday."
She nods and begins to walk off. Getting in my car. I begin to drive to the Collin mansion.
