Chapter 2 - 'venturing into space

"Okay, Jeffrey." my boss, Anthony Jones is telling me along with three others what we're supposed to do on Jupiter's moon named Megaclite. I don't know the names of my other companions but, oh well. Let's see what happens. "You will be joined by Blake Evans and Jack smith, your nephew." he said.

"What? Then who was the other guy before him? I asked. If I ever stumble upon that portal, even if it's not there, I can't have my nephew come with me. He is untrained to go to Jupiter's axis.

"The other guy, Johanssen had been reassigned to another project. Jack, on the other hand, has enough experience and knowledge to go there." Anthony said. I can see Jack smiling at me.

"Won't that be fun, uncle? This will be our first time on a mission." he said while deeply staring at me with excitement. Oh dear. This makes me wonder why they don't just send robots to other planets. Oh right, they can't because of mass difference.

"Just be sure to not be too noisy and be professional." I said. There's no turning back now. I mean, I can't brag Anthony out of it. He is the type of guy who stays true to his decisions, he doesn't change his mind if he wants it to happen.

"Yay! I think there's only 20 minutes left for us to prepare. We should start going and say our goodbyes for now." Jack said. Although he is a bit young, he carries the genetics of his father, Adam.

"We have to go now, see you later." Blake said. She's been silent all this time.

We are now going inside the ship. The process is kinda boring but it is crucial. I hear something talking downstairs, I'm preparing the controls upstairs.

"...Piston Grip Tool?"

"Here."

"...Robot Crane?"

"Here."

"...Trace Gas Analyzers? Safety Tethers? Gas Tanks? Oxygen Mask? Oxygen Tanks? Pulverizer?" I think its Blake talking. I walked in the room and saw Blake and Jack double-checking the equipment.

"Everything is here. We should be able to match the moons of Jupiter. We have 12 mins left." Jack said. 12 minutes? They've been preparing and double-checking for 8 mins while I was upstairs, basically playing with a lever. What a great guy I am. I enter the room.

"Hey guys. I see you've been workin'. Is everything ready?" I asked. Blake stared at me with judging eyes but whatever.

"Yeah. We've checked everything and it seems like we have everything we need ranging from Operational to Utilities." Jack said.

"We did it, WITHOUT YOU." Blake said. There's always that one girl with the attitude. I wave at them to come up. Moments later , we are all at the main console and the countdown started.

"BLAST OFF!" the counter said. And we are off the ground!

Suddenly, a spehrical opening appears and suddenly, everything went black. I became unconscious slowly while the two are screaming their throats off.
