Magnus: ... But we never really finished our conversation after Izzy's trial, about your wedding.
Alec: It's no conversation to be had. I'm getting married. You and I understand marriage very differently. I'm a shadowhunter, this is about family, and traditions, honor...
Magnus: Honor? Where is the honor in living a lie?
Alec: What are you talking about?
Magnus: What about love? Even shadowhunters fall in love, Alec. Just tell me you're in love with Lydia, and I'll stop.
Alec: (Pause) I don't know. Why do you keep pushing? (Tries to find the right words) Yo- you're confusing me!
Magnus: Confusion is part of it. That's how you find out if something's there. Emotions are never black and white, they are more like symptoms.
(Starts revolving around Alec) You lose your breath every time they enter the room. Your heart beats faster everytime they walk by. Your skin tingles when they stand close enough to feel their breath. I know you feel what I feel, Alec.
Alec: I have no idea what I feel. So back off. (Gets away) It's all just a game to you, isn't it? You flirt, you laugh, you use magic, but at the end of the day, what do you risk? Even if I feel something for you, would I give up my life for you? I have to do what's right for me. I could lose my family, my career, everything. You just don't get it.
Magnus: You have a choice to make. Will not ask again.
(Alec turns but Magnus has disappeared.)
