Why Are These Streets So Quiet?

I don't think I could ever show him my face again after that conversation. I checked the time to find out that I spent 3 and a half hours looking at pointless thoughts that no one wants to hear.

It's currently 12 noon and i'm extremely bored. I could study, but there'd be no point if I can't understand anything, my eyes are a little tired for waking up way too early on a weekend so I don't really wanna use my phone and I don't feel like talking with others.

"I got it."

I muttered these words as a light bulb flashed into existence on my head. Get it off Get it off Get it off

Maybe i'll ride the bike my parents gave me as a Christmas present, which I haven't used since. It's nice to actually feel alive from time to time.

And so I got ready. I dug through a seemingly endless amount of usable junk and finally found a helmet. I put on a dry-fit shirt and the first pair of shorts I could get my hands on and fixed up my short but not too short black hair. I then looked into the mirror to find out that I looked like an overgrown 12 year old and went out then went in the garage to pick up my dusty plain green bike.

After wiping off the dust I ventured into the great mystery known as my neighborhood. It would always be unnaturally silent in the mornings but you could still hear the whispers of my neighbors. At night it's a different story. It would be so quiet that you could hear a needle drop from quite a distance, believe me, I did the experiment with Makise and Arima not too long ago.

Part of the reason for the lack of sound is that no one seems to run a business around here. You won't hear or see any students because most of them live in apartments and condominiums. If they weren't living in one of those, they came from the nearby village on the other side of Bosmo High School.

"Come to think of it, Why have I never asked my parents about this?"

I was so focused on figuring out the mystery of this horror-like place that I almost forgot that I was riding a bike. It's like my mind took a leave without warning and my body was forced to take it's shift. It felt absolutely amazing.

I had no real goal or destination while riding this so I just kept circling around like a dog hopelessly trying to chase its own tail. Until I saw Jepoi picking up plastic bottles and cans.

Then immediately took a turn to avoid him cause there's no way i'm facing him the same day as that awkward as hell conversation.
I sighed and closed my eyes in relief. When I opened them again I took a quick left turn to avoid the petite girl walking out the corner. I put in so much force that I ended up crashing sideways, the ground cut and scraped and bruised my skin.

I instinctively applied pressure on a particularly large cut on my right arm to stop the bleeding and examined my current environment and there she is, the girl who made me undergo that suffering.

With her hair tied into twin-tails., wearing a plain pink sweater and a peach colored skirt that stretched just below her knees was a very familiar face.

"What the hell Nato! You almost got me killed!"

Exaggeration much? Ignoring my injuries like the ignorant ahole that she is, I fired back, even though i'm obviously in the wrong.

"It's not my fault you're so hard to see coming out of a corner, besides, look at what that did to me!"

After I said that last bit, she examined my body covered in scrapes and cuts which for some reason feels slightly unsettling.

*gasp

About time you noticed.

"Hey!.. nevermind. We need to get you to a doctor asap, the resident clinic isn't too far ahead. Cmon hop on the bike, i'll take you there."
