Eighteenth part

"I came to talk"
"Came to talk?! You literally told me to move on yesterday and now you're here!"
"So I guess I should go and, you know, let you two talk" Arizona said walking out.
"I know that it was stupid of me to come here"
"Stupid? It's literally the worst thing you could do. You wanted me to move on and I've been trying. I just came home from my first date ever and here you are. Are you trying to ruin this for me?"
"I'm sorry. I just wanted to talk"
"Well then you could've talked to some other friend" he smiled at me "what?"
"You called us friends" I calmed down a little bit when I saw how happy he was about us being friends. I walked over and sat down on the bar stool next to him.
"What did you, ehm, wanna talk about?"
"I wanted to apologize"
"About?"
"Being a jerk. I didn't call you for a year and then I just told you to forget about me and move on"
"Are you trying to say that you regret asking me to move on?"
"Ronnie..." he hadn't called me 'Ronnie' in forever. I looked down to hide the fact that I was smiling "my only regret is not telling you earlier to move on. I should've told you months ago-"
"You must be kidding with me!"
"I'm sorry Ronnie"
"Don't call me that! Don't ever speak to me again! And definitely never show up here again! I don't wanna see you or look at you ever again!"
"Veronica-"
"No, just leave!" he got up. He started walk out of the kitchen but just before leaving the room he looked back at me.
"You seemed really happy when you got home and Jacob looked like a nice guy. I hope you're happy with him and can forget about me" he walked out and when I heard the door shut I let the tears out. Arizona came walking into the kitchen. She didn't say anything she just pulled me into a hug.
"It's gonna get better, okay? You can always talk to me and after what you've told me about Jacob I'm sure you can talk to him too" I nodded slightly.
"I thought he was the love of my life, and now he's asking me to forget about him. Does he not get that that's the hardest thing ever"
"I know. He's a jerk and you should be mad at him. But please don't let it take over your life. You have to keep living. School starts soon and you have a new boyfriend plus your roommate is probably the best person ever" I smiled at her.
"Thank you"
"You're welcome. Now, maybe you should take away you makeup. It's looking sorta bad"
"Well that's what happens when you cry" I walked to the bathroom and looked myself in the mirror. My makeup really did looked horrible. I had mascara smudged all over my face. I wiped my makeup away and got changed into some comfier clothes. I heard my phone buzz and checked it.
"Traffic was crazy, so I just got home. I'm already missing you! Thank you for the best night ever, hope to take you out soon again"
The text was obviously from Jacob. His text made me forget about Archie for just a few seconds while reading it. I walked out to Arizona who was watching some cooking show on Netflix. I sat down next to her. I had decided to just enjoy these last few weeks before college.

2 weeks later:
My alarm went off early. I wasn't ready at all for school to start. Arizona was already up when I walked into the kitchen.
"Morning beautiful" she said mocking me. I was probably looking like shit. My hair was messy and I was more tired than ever.
"Morning to you too"
"I made some coffee and waffles, you want some?"
"Yeah, I'm starving"
"Why are you so tired? Late night?"
"Something like that" we both heard a crash from my room.
"You must be kidding with me, is he here?"
"Yes, but it's not what you think. We just stayed up reading all night until we both fell asleep"
"Well I wasn't thinking something else"
"Yes you were, I'm not cheating on Jacob"
"Fine but he's been here every night for the past week"
"I know, but he's dad just died and he has no one except me"
"He shouldn't have you. You guys broke up and just two weeks ago you were yelling at him that you never wanted to see him again"
"I know" out of my room came Archie. He was wearing his usual 'sweatpants and t-shirt outfit'.
"Sorry Veronica, I was gonna sneak out but then I knocked over your plant plus I wanted waffles"
"It's okay, she knows you were here"
"Yeah, but she does not approve of it" Arizona said taking her breakfast and walking to the living room.
"She does not like us being friends"
"She's just protective of me"
"How?"
"She knows how many times you've broken my heart and she doesn't want it to happen again" he looked at me and I could see that he regretted breaking my heart more than once.
"I have to go to work and I'm sorry for being here. I'll grab my stuff and go home"
"No, you don't have to-"
"Yes I do. You should call Jacob, he deserves an explanation"

A/N: This may seem confusing or rushed but there will be flashbacks explaining everything. I hope you like this story, I'm honestly really proud of it. Just wanted to say that, now enjoy this story😊
