Perhaps he should just talk to some of his friends that weren't Crystal or James. And perhaps, just perhaps, he could convince someone into investigating Cressida and Peter's weird - but totally expected - behavior.
------------------------
Crystal was fully awake, her body was asking for rest, but her mind wandered, unable to give in to sleep. She was also unable to change her sleeping position, since Regulus had hugged her while deep in his sleep, and she was left facing the ceiling, instead of on her side.
She frowned as the lack of sleep started giving way to a headache, that sadly, she knew would only get stronger the longer she stayed awake. She sighed deeply, trying to relax her mind.
Suddenly, she felt something on the skin between her brows, smoothing the temporary wrinkles she had from frowning. Regulus' hand was sloppily moving on her forehead and she turned to see him half asleep.
"Don't worry now, you'll get even more tired..." He whispered between sleep and wakefulness.
Once he ended his sentence, he had already drifted to sleep. Crystal gently lifted his hand from her forehead and placed it on the blanket. He sighed peacefully.
Crystal closed her eyes and tried to sleep once again.
Their interaction had a rather calming effect on her raging mind.

"Isn't it funny?" The throaty laugh almost seemed bitter.
"What?" She asked, feeling uncomfortable all of sudden.
"That you have to see them trust that old man."
She scoffed.
"As if you're any younger!" She stopped, feeling it may have been just too rude. "Sure, I don't like it, I don't want to see it and it makes me uncomfortable. But why are you so keen on making me feel miserable against him?"
"Because I do."
She went silent.
And he did, too.
"Why?" She thought for a moment. "Because you were friends."
He gave her a weary look.
"Sure thing..." He bobbed his head to the sides, as if dancing to a silent tune. "You may see me as evil and I won't deny it at all."
"Oh? But weren't you always justifying it because of the 'greater good'?"
He let out a rather disturbing laugh.
"Nah, kid. In the end, it's because it was what I wanted, nothing less, nothing more. But hear me out." He made a gesture, theatrical in nature,' that he was about to tell a forbidden secret. "Some of you may be in my place, sooner than later."
She looked puzzled.
"Locked in a huge ass tower?"
He laughed louder for a long time.
Then he stared at her, gaze dead on her eyes and muttered:
"Betrayed."
