Russel ended up dropping me off at home. Leaving Murdoc to stomp away on his own.

I came clean to my mother, telling her only about Paula and jake. Though my mum only reassured me that it will pass. That god does everything for a reason.

My step-dad gave me some advice. "Women, you can't live with them, but you can't live without 'em" earning a playful glare from my mum.

The only thing left to console me was some zombie films. Though I soon fell asleep, drifting off and forgetting about the world.

No Paula. No Murdoc. No friends. No jake. Just me... and slumber.

Didn't last as I had a nightmare.

A nightmare of me and Paula splitting up. Leaving me for jake. I knew she wouldnt, so I knew it wasn't real.

The next morning, Paula picked me up for school. This time not bothering to pick up Murdoc from yesterday. Grumbling, and mourning for her guitar.

Though Murdoc didn't show up.

No big deal, just one less person bringing tension within me.

And I say one because...

Well.....

"Go on, 2d. He's right there"

Paula pushed me in the direction of Jake.

Why am I doing this you ask?

Simply put, I don't want to have Paula breathing down my neck to forgive him. Doesn't mean I will actually mean it. I'll just say, "I forgive you" and walk away, no need for extra commitment.

Right?

"Hey Jake"

"Oh..hey Stuart. I uh..i wanted to say-"

"It's ok"

"W-wait what?"

"I forgive you jake"

"R-Really?"

"Yeah"

"T-thank you. T-thank you, so, so, so, so, much. You have no idea how much that means to me. I promise you won't regret it. Uhhh.... would you... would you like to come over to hang out at my place? I don't live to far."

"He'd love to" Paula spoke, sounding more like my mother than my girlfriend.

"Yeah, ok" responding while Paula held a metaphorical gun to my head.

"Great! I'll... I'll see you at lunch"

Lunch.

Make it class

Make it 4 classes

4 classes with jake

Though I guess it isn't so bad. He apologized.

And what do I prefer, giving him a second chance, or loosing my girlfriend.  Besides, the way he talked to me, i actually think he might have meant it. Just hope i made the right decision.

*last class*

"Hey 2d" Paula waved her hand in front of me, bringing me back to reality. She had arrived a bit after me, frustrated at something.

"Hey Stuart" Jake walked in and sat down.

They sat in their regular seats, murdoc still missing. Something called my attention from the corner of murdoc's seat. It was a folded up white note. Paula also took notice of it.

"Hey 2d. Look. I'm sorry about yesterday. Things might have gotten out of hand even. And I'm sorry about that. But there is something that I really REALLY need to tell you about Pa-"

The note was taken out from my hands by none other than Paula.

"Hey! Paula, I was reading that" I frowned. "Yeah, I know. But trust me, reading that note won't do ya any good. I've read it before. In all of the other classes, murdoc has put that same flimsy note. He's basically mad because of us dating" Paula sighed, placing the note into her bag. "Oh. Why?" I asked. "He's mad because he doesn't want people from his band dating. He says that it would make things akward since he would end up as a type of third wheel." She sighed again.

"Wait... you two are dating?" Jake spoke up.  "Yeah, pretty much" she smiled at him. "How long?" This is made us think for a bit. It's been what? Like... a week?... "a week maybe" I awoke from my thoughts. "That's great. I'm happy for ya stu" Jake beamed. I could get used to this.

"Alright students, hang on for a little longer. I know you guys are tired but bear with me..."

*after school*

Class was....boring.

Not by the fact that the teacher or what we did was boring. But it was because of the fact that there weren't much remarks and jokes as when murdoc is there.

But anyway

I waited in front of the school.

Not for murdoc, but for jake.

It was decided by the two of us that we could try to hang out. Like we used to as kids. Laughing, playing video games, staying up late....

Maybe this was the right decision.

I watched as I saw him walk towards me from behind.

"Hey stu, do you mind if we walk instead? I live only a few blocks from here. It's just my car broke down." He rubbed the back of his neck. "No yeah, it's ok. I usually walk home anyway."
We started to walk in the direction jake was telling me.

We laughed the way there, telling each other stories about what things have happened after the accident.

He told me about how his actions had sent him to juvi. And how he and that girl had ended up breaking up.

*jakes house*

"Mom, I'm home" Jake called out, walking toward a set of stairs.

"Who's that with you?" His mom walked out.

Compared to Jake, you could say he took a lot after his father. In appearance, at least.

She had hard brown hair cut to a chin bob, her hair starting to gray. Her dark brown eyes still filled with adoration towards life she's always had.

"Mom, you remember Stuart right?" He asked. "Yeah, your friend from childhood. He was a very sweet boy" his mom smiled. "Well, this is him." He motioned his hands towards me. All at once I was embraced by her. "Oh my lord, look at you! Same blue hair, and oh.... your eyes.... they are just like your mother told me they were like.." she rambled on. "It's ok. Really, it is. He apologized." I smiled.

"Well then, I suppose you two have a lot to catch up on. On you go you two, and be down by dinner!" His mom smiled.

Yeah. I can definitely get used to this.
