Why I Defend Mabel Pines

"she doesnt give up anything"

when i first hear people say they don't like her, their reason is mainly "dipper does a lot for her but she doesnt do anything for him". and i disagree.

people often bring up the scene in sock opera where Bill points this out, also the scene where he calls her out on it too. but they completely ignore the fact that, she realizes everything Dipper has done for her and then the tables turn. she fights Bipper, successfully gets Dipper back in his body, but blows up her whole play to save him, sacrificing all her hard work and her chance with Gabe in the process.

she even acknowledged her mistake and apologized to him in the end.

and then there's escape from reality. a lot of people bashed her because Dipper went with her (this will be mentioned later). but really, she does give up something for him in this episode. after she finds out that she and Dipper have been through everything together and that hes going home with her, she learns that she shouldn't run from her problems, but instead face them, and recieve help from her loved ones. that's when she rejects the bubble and destroys it, for her family.

i'd also like to point out that people say she MADE Dipper give up his apprenticeship. if she really MADE him do it, why is Dipper smiling when he says he's going home with Mabel?

and why does Mabel LITERALLY say she appreciates what Dipper says, but if Dipper REALLY wants to go with Ford, she won't get in his way?

yes, Dipper does a LOT for her. but she does things for him too. Mabel may not have sacrificed a lot, but when she does, she gives up big things.
