HEART SIXTEEN

SIXTEENTH CHAPTER

"What? It's too early to go home!" Pasigaw ni Czarina. Her mom just called her and now she went ballistic since her parents told her to be at home by 10:30pm and it's already exactly 10:00pm.

"Oo nga naman girls. You need to go home. It's not safe at night anymore." Daddy interrupted as he went near us sa poolside. We were having small conversations, me and my girlfriends while the boys, they went to Kuya Vincent's room.

Wala namang nagawa ang mga kaibigan ko kundi umayon na din kay Daddy. We bid them all goodbye riding our van. Ihahatid na sila ni Kuya Paolo. Alam naman niya na ang mga bahay ng kaibigan ko. Dad and Mom help me send off my friends. Ang iingay talaga ng mga iyon. When we came inside, the living room seems so big and quiet.

Both mom and dad kissed me good night and told me not to be up until 11pm so I did as I was told.

I got a drink from the refrigerator. A glass of fresh milk to make me sleep soundly. My glass of milk on the other hand and my other hand is busy checking my phone replying to my classmates' and Czarina's text saying she arrived safe followed by Claire and Chloe. But before I could finish my drink, I heard Kuya's friend's voices in the living room. Pero nangingibabaw pa din ang boses ni Kuya and Daniel. Are they fighting over something? Kuya's voice sounded like he's about to go Spartan with anything at the moment. So I stole a peek from the door and hoped they won't see me.

"I told you already, hundred thousand times of no. We had a brotherly promise, Daniel! You can't do this. You can't just tell me and ask my permission about that! No way you'll get that!" My Kuya Vince, he was not himself. Gone the sly, frivolous and play-boyish look on his face. He look dark and dangerous. But on the other hand, Daniel was the same as my brother. His stern look that could perforate any object at any time. He has this chilly aura around him.

"I'm going for it. I only informed you not asked permission, but you have no say on this. The choice is not yours to choose." I don't know what they are fighting over, but this is the first time I see them fight. They were such peas-in-a-pod, only that there are four of them.

Kuya tried to get off Kuya Caleb's hold and so was Daniel but thankfully Kuya Trax was there to hold him in place. The four of them almost have the same body built, but Kuya Caleb and Kuya Vince were leaner and has more like the fair complexion compare to Kuya Trax and Daniel.

Kuya Vince got all his life force to get off Kuya Caleb's hold and succeeded. Akala ko tatakbo siya at susuntukin si Daniel but what he did stupefy everyone in the room including me. Kuya Vince chuckled. He looked down and comb his hair with his hand and place them on his waist and stare at Daniel.

"You got the guts. How about we take a shot?" Kuya Trax unclasp his hold and Daniel was freed. He changed his stance into more comfortable one than that of his last.

"Fuck off, Vincent!" Pagkasabing pagksabi ni Daniel no'n ay agad siyang tumalikod but I caught his glimpse my way. What? Did he know that I am here?

Kuya Vince again, like a maniac, chuckled. Kuya Caleb playfully jab Kuya's arm. While Kuya Trax shook his head in disbelief and walk out following Daniel.

"You can come out now lil sis." He utter. My eyes grew radial than ever for sure. How did he found out? "Come on now. There's no sense in hiding now." Tyaka tinuon ang pansin nito sa akin. I check my stance and stand firm, clearing my throat. Psh! Guilty!

"Oh sis, what am I gonna do with you." He chuckled again like he remembered something very funny and walked towards me. He lean in and kissed my forehead. "Go to bed lil sis, tomorrow's your lucky day." And without any other word, he left for the front door followed by Kuya Caleb who wave at me and I nod as I acknowledge them leave.
