After Sonic and Shadow had escaped, Egg man went out to see what happened with Mephiles after noticing Shadow was gone, surprised to see him in the tank he quickly went over and entered the password, the door opened. Freeing him. Mephiles was now even more fired up wanting nothing more than to kill the blue hedgehog that escaped him again.
" We're gonna need a new plan, this tactic on capturing him isn't working, we need a trap. As in capture someone, he comes running to save them then once he gets away from me, you could show up in a field and destroy him. "
Mephiles liked this plan, once the blue blur thought he was safe, he could attack him before he knew he was there just like in the erased timeline but this time Iblis wasn't around. Mephiles forgot about Iblis at the time just wanting to be rid of Sonic.
" Forget our deal about finding Iblis, I just want to destroy the blue hedgehog and have my freedom. Iblis is fine on his own in another dimension. At least this should ruin the future for Shadow."
Mephiles turned into his crystallized form.
" Ok that deal is off but I promise you freedom once the rodent is history! Now who should I capture ?"
He decided to go after Elise who was queen now, she was kept in a prison cell once captured.
Mean while.....

Sonic was curled up on the couch passed out.
Shadow was starting to wake up, fully healed but felt a bit different, he felt like his chaos energy had risen a bit. Just then a portal opened and a light gray hedgehog appeared out of the portal. His fur color was almost white but not quite.
He sat up, not feeling threatened by the other hedgehog but was a bit worried he'd harm Sonic like Mephiles.
" Shadow right? Hi I'm Silver. I don't know if you know me or not. I'm a friend of Sonic's... well sort of. "
He walked over to Shadow, he took notice of his friend curled up on the couch. He took notice of the bandages on his left arm.
" yeah I'm Shadow... I'm more of a rival to Sonic than a friend but things have changed a bit here. "
Silver nodded understanding, he silently wondered if Shadow had broken his friend's arm or if it was someone else. He decided not to accuse him of anything.
" I mainly came to warn you... something terrible is about to happen. I can't go much into detail, it's the rules for time traveling."
Shadow wondered what he meant that something bad was going to happen but nodded understandably. Silver then went back to the portal and left. He would be back later though. Looking back at Sonic, Shadow noticed he seemed to be comfortable. The blue hero was purring a bit. He smiled a little, grateful that Sonic was able to escape Mephiles and went to help his rival out. Shadow had done a lot for Sonic so it seemed fair that Sonic helped him but knowing Sonic, he didn't help the hybrid for fairness, he just helped him because it was the right thing to do. Shadow realized right then that he really didn't hate him. Sure they had fought a lot in the past but even back then aside from when they first met, he never really wanted him to die.
Shadow was shaken from his thoughts as he took notice that Sonic was starting to wake. Sonic looked up at Shadow, his emerald green eyes shined a bit in the light, so full of life, hope, and determination.
Shadow just smiled at him, the blue blur smiled back at him.
