Breakfast

Her eyes fluttered open. She was so tired she could barely move. The chirps from the birds outside her window brought her to her senses. She felt something on her side, wrapped around her waist. Looking down, she saw it was an arm. With wide eyes, Angela moved her body very slowly and carefully. At the sight of the deep brown eyes and vibrant green hair, she jumped from her bed with a shriek.

Something loud jolted him awake. He was too tired to care, but then the realization he wasn't in his own bed made him care. Genji sat up and looked over at a frightened Angela. He jumped off on the opposite side, shaken up.

"You have on-"

"Yep"

"And I have on-"

"Uh-huh"

"So we didn't-"

"Nope"

They both sighed in relief. There was an awkward silence afterward, lasting for a few minutes. Genji just looked from corner to corner, admiring the nice room, while Angela stressed over what she would tell her parents.

"You need to get out," She said and she threw her hair up in a quick ponytail. "My mother and father will be here any second."

"Why so soon? Can I at least eat breakfast first?" Angela sighed. She needed to get him out she heard the smallest little "Please?" And when she looked up, she was met with big round puppy eyes.

"Ugh, fine. a bowl of cereal," He ran out the room and down the stairs. Goodness, he must be hungry. After getting dressed out of yesterday's clothes and into today's, she went downstairs and was met with a Genji cleaning up a big mess in the kitchen. "What did you do?" He stood up with an empty cardboard box.

"I may or may not have spilled the cocoa puffs everywhere," She shook her head and grabbed the broom, helping him clean up his mess. While cleaning up, They didn't realize how close they actually were. Their heads bonked together, and when they stood up and realized what happened, the two laughed at their mistake.

Suddenly, Angela snorted. She was so embarrassed. She covered her mouth. Genji didn't understand what happened. "What happened? What did I do?" Angela kept her mouth hidden behind her hand as she spoke.

"I'm so sorry, that was completely unintentional," Genji stepped closer to her and wrapped his hand around her waist. "I thought it was kind of cute. Angela's face went red and her eyes went big as she looked up at the man.

"Th-Thank you." He smiled. But then, the sound of the front door echoed through the house and Angela pushed him away from her.

"Oh god."

"What?" Angela Pushed Genji into a closet nearby as her parents walked into the kitchen. "Hey mom! Hi dad! how was your trip?" Genji watched through a slight gap in the door.

"It was wonderful, thank you for asking, we sure did miss you though," Her mother embraced her in a big, warm hug. Genji had no idea what that was like, He had forgotten over the many years what it felt like to be in a warm embrace from someone you loved. Genji zoned out as her father was saying something about Omnics and the economy, and Angela said something back, but he didn't catch it either.

"Why don't you guys go unpack upstairs and I'll make you guys an omelet?" Angela's mother and father agreed to the plan and walked upstairs with their luggage. As soon as she heard the bedroom door closed, She rushed over and opened the closet door.

"You have to get out." Genji looked upset.

"But I didn't finish my breakfast!" Angela rolled her eyes

"I'll make it up to you, just get out, now!" She pushed him to the front door and walked him out. When the front door closed, He stared longingly around the front yard. Well, there goes another chance for love. He began to walk home through the morning light, wishing he had the chance to say one more thing to her.
