Chapter 7 "Karaoke"

I reach the locker in the doctors lounge, I see Natalie and Will talking, I just ignore what they're saying, I take off my coat and hang it on the hook and then Natalie pokes my shoulder. “Hey, Lauren wanna go to Molly’s with me and Will?” she asks “You can bring Connor if you want” she says again “I’ll ask Connor, I’ll send you a message if I go” I say and smile. I leave and I see that it’s raining outside and I just step outside not caring a crap if I get wet when suddenly and umbrella covers the raindrops, I turn my head slightly and see Connor smiling at me “Hey Conn, thanks for the umbrella” I say and grin. “Natalie asked me if we wanted to go to Molly’s” I continue to speak “Sure, if you want to” Connor replies. We walk to Connor's car and we get in, he sits on the driver’s side, as he always does and I look at him and we both lean our heads, he kisses me and I kiss him back. I set free from our kiss and say “Come on, let’s go” he grins and he starts driving.
We enter at Molly’s and I see Natalie and Will sitting in a booth next to the bathrooms. As we get closer, my eye catches Ava, I just shrug her off of my mind and continue walking. “You guys came” Natalie says surprised “Of course, we did” I say and me and Connor sit. He embraces me with his arm and I just lay on him. The waiter comes and Connor orders a beer, so does Will and me and Natalie just order some whisky. “There’s a new karaoke machine” Natalie says “Sounds fun” Connor replies
One hour later…
We kept drinking and Connor and Will got a little bit drunk, Connor went to the karaoke machine, I haven’t even seen Ava since we entered so she left, that’s a good sign. “I’m going to sing a duet” Connor says lifting his beer “W-with my best friend Will Halstead” he says again and Will finds his way up to the stage, as he gets up there, he places his arm on Connor's shoulder. I look at Natalie and we both start laughing.
A song begins to play.

Connor looked at me the whole time he was singing, even if he’s drunk he still loves me. They both get off the stage and Connor sits next to me, he kisses me and I kiss him back.
After a few more rounds, my phone starts ringing, I pull it out of my pocket and go outside so that I could hear.
I answer.
“Hello” I say “Hey sis” I hear a familiar voice. I suddenly recognize it, it’s my sister. “What’s up  Clare” I say and smile as if she was infront of me “Well, dad is sick” she says dryly “What does he have?” I ask worrisome “He has lung cancer” she answers “Is it bad” I say and a tear goes down my cheek “We’re just waiting to see if the chemos work” Clare replies “Ok, I’ll be on my way to NYC, to see dad. See you tomorrow” I say and hang up.
I walk back in and I clear my tears from my cheek and I walk slowly to where Connor is. I sit next to him and say “Hey, I've got to go to NYC” he looks up and nods “Nat…” I say and look at her “Can you take Connor home?” I ask her “Yeah, sure” she replies “Ok, thanks”.
On my way home, I called Goodwin and told her I’m going to NYC for an emergency and she told me I was fine, that I should take my time. I walk into my apartment and I start packing things up.
I order an Uber and then it arrives, I get in and it drives me to the airport.
