Damien dashed up to the king, his eldest brother."YOU IDIOT!" He shouted. "What were you thinking?! Taking our strongest of allies! What if the eastern kingdom attacks!" The king remained silent. "Joven! Don't be stubborn now!"
Joven sighs. "They would have raised up at any chance. I have increased our chance of survival, by killing them. We will not be betrayed!"
"You'll see the mistake you made." Damien scoffs, angerly stomping out.
"How'd it go?" Tenshi asks.
"Terrible."
"As expected." Tenshi sighs, and looks down at the closest bar. "LEts grab a drink." He sparks, and lead Damien and Nathan down to the bar.
THey arrive, seeing the drunkards dancing away, insulting each other, getting into break ups, etc. They arrive at the bar counter, the tender taking a mug full of rich beer, and placing it on the counter for a customer. He diverts his attention.
"Hello friends! It is good to see you. What shall I get you today?" The bartender asks.
"We'll all take your finest!" Tenshi exclaims. The tender nods, and walks off to fill up three mugs.
"I'll get us a table." Nathan mumbles, strolling off to a nearby table.
"Here you are sirs!" The bartender says, handing us the mugs of rum o the two of them.
They all sit at the chosen table, Nathan leans on the wall, drinking slowly.
"Damien... How are you holding up?" Nathan asks. Damien doesn't respond, but let out a quivering sigh.
"Hm...." Tenshi mumbles. "Wanna meet the others later? You haven't seen them in awhile!"
Damien nods. "Yeah... Sounds like a good idea!"
"ALRIGHT! LEts finish up and lets meet 'em!" Tenshi exclaims
(Later)
TEnshi pounds his fist on a door.
The door opens, to them being greeted by a well dressed woman, bowing her head in greeting. She guides them in.
"Matt! Fray! Jane!" Damien yells aloud and three people, well dressed, one in armor, they turn their attention to him.
"DAMIEN!" They all exclaim in sync. Rushing up to him and hugging him. Nathan chuckles.
Matt backs off. "I have guard duty. I'll catch ya later! Maybe we can play some chess! See ya!" MAtt says, strolling out.
"He never breaks." Jane jokes. "I'll show you to your quarters!"
Fray glares at him. Breaking off and following Matt. Damien lets out a soft sigh of disappointment.
"They still can't let go of jealousy." Tenshi mumbles under his breath. "Well then, you should see what we did to your quarters!"
Nathan decides this should be his time to depart, heading to the gates.
Damien gulps nervously as he trails Jane and Tenshi. They arrive at his room. Damien slowly creaks open the door.
The room is filled with cleaning supplies, his bed properly made, everything the way it was... Except one of the kingdoms servants, Acatha, with frilly golden locks and dark brown eyes. She was tidying up.
"Nothing!" Tenshi exclaims jokingly. Damien dosen't respond. He's just surprised in every way. Jane pats him on the back.
"Shocking ain't it?" She adds. Damien just slaps his hand onto his head.
"Well then... I guess it's time for me to leave!" Damien mumbles.
"Oh why so?"
"You never did anything! It's like I was here all along!" Damien's mood lowers. "... Kinda wish I never returned."
"WHAT?!" Jane and Tenshi exclaim in sync. "Why not?!"
"Our idiot of a brotherly King." Damien replies.
Tenshi nods, then sighs. "He may be a fool, but he's still family."
"True." Damien sighs exhaustedly.
"Why don't you get some rest. We'll be out." Jane mentions. Damien nods, and they both leave, leaving Damien alone with the servant.
Damien lays himself onto his bed, gazing up at the ceiling. The servant finishes, approaching him.
"It's a pleasure to see you're well and fine milord." Acatha mentions.
"Thanks Acatha."
"You're welcome milord." She turns to leave.
"Wait!" Damien calls to her, causing Acatha to turn back toward him.
"Yes milord?"
"Stop calling me that, Damien is fine. And it would be nice to have some company for awhile." Acatha nods and steps back to Damien and sits down next to him. "Thanks."
"No problem! We have been friends since you were yet a child!" Acatha laughs. "You were basically the only one treating us like humans except tools. Not including Tenshi and Jane. The others were arse's to us!" Acatha rants. Damien chuckles.
"They always were fools when it came to treating others." Damien responds.
"Ain't that right!" Acatha pauses. "It's nice to have someone to talk to."
"I agree."
"But... I'm worried about something." Acatha mumbles. "The land to the east, without the Crane household, they can attack at anytime! King Joey I think his name was! He has a bloody dark Mage part of his haram!" She exclaims.
"Those are the people to the west. And King Joey was murdered by the same woman."
"Oh... Right." Acatha blushes with embarrassment. "W-Well... I'm gonna head out and get to work!" She gets back up. "See ya Damien!" She mentions as she gets her supplies and heads off.
Damien slowly drifts into sleep. The silence succumbing him into a blissful rest.
(Time skip)
Damien awakes with a sudden rush, his blood pumping through him as he is awoken by:
The sound of civilians screaming.
This one was a bit boring wasn't it? Longer then intended, but I wanted to show some relationships.
