Chapter Five

I wake up the next morning with the smell of coffee drifting in my room. I walk into the kitchen to find my mum and mummy talking at the breakfast table.

"Good morning," I said, the sleepiness still on my voice.

"Good morning to you too," they said at the same time. This brought a low chuckle between the three of us in the kitchen.

I look around to see that Ms.Shelley is nowhere to be seen. "What happened to Ms.Shelley? Did she die?"

"Corina you are crazy, no Ms.Shelley did not die. We just told her to take some time off for the day." my mum said.

"We actually need to talk to you about something, so whenever your ready will be ready." my mummy said.

"Can't we just talk right now?" I say not knowing what could be so important that I needed to be ready for.

"If that's what you want," my mum said.

"Okay so let's talk." from there the most life-changing conversation happened.

"Corina, when we say this please do not have a crazy freak out. We are saying this because this is what you are. Remember we love you, and you can not change this." my mum said.

"Corina we, all of us, are vampires." my mummy said.

What? I scrunch my eyebrows while I think. What does she mean a vampire? Like a thing, that turns into a bat.

"What?"

"I know you are probably thinking you are going crazy, but your not. We, all of us we are vampires. No, we can not turn to bats but we do have fangs."

Well, I guess the best part is ruined I can't even turn into a bat.

"How?"

"Well, my family so the original Sontavious family was one of the top vampire families that have ever been around. So usually if you are born into the family you can get the jean in your DNA."

"How did I get into this?"

"Well with every blood moon, one lucky couple who is not able to have a child is given a child by the moon itself. Well you see me and your mum can't have a baby so we were given to you. That's why your birthday is always around the time. That's why we have to leave around that time. We have to go support the new couple."

"What does the moon have to do with all of this?"

"Well, the moon is like your god. You may not know this but you are a gift from the moon. Every single second the moon is watching over you. You may not know it, but the moon is probably one of the important things or as far as people in your life. So just remember you are connected with the moon as much as you connected with me or your mum."
