Jeremy POV
Present tense
I take Michael to the bathroom to wash his face. "You okay?" I ask.
"Y-yeah," he responds.
"I love you" I say. He pauses
"I love you too." He says back. "We're never not gonna be a team." I smile. He blows his nose. We go to language arts. We sit down.
"You guys okay?" Jenna asks. "You looked pretty bad."
"Yeah," Michael responds. "I just needed a minute." He wipes away a tear. Jenna smiles.
"We'll always be together," she says. "for better or worse." She smirks. Michael manages a laugh. Rich and Jake come over. Rich is tearing up a lot. Jake has his arm around him. Brooke looks over at Rich. She clasps a hand over her mouth and starts sobbing. She's crying even harder than Michael was. Rich goes up to her.
"I'm sorry," he says.
"I c-c-can't t-take it," she breaths. "I-I just w-want the p-pain to stop," she sobs. I feel tears coming to my eyes. We all come together in a group chat. Everyone is crying. Rich, Brooke, and Michael are sobbing. We savor the moment.
