RHYDON

It's been a couple of weeks since we witnessed Eldridge dying. We've looked through the bag he gave us and the book as well but have not found anything.

I've tried contacting the Elders of both Werewolf Council and Witch Council but they have not been able to tell us anything more about Eldridge's death other than that they were still investigating it.

Gemma and I had both told everyone about Eldridge and what we were given but all of us have been on edge a little bit since that night because we're not sure if he was killed because of his position in the council or if it was for another reason and to make matters worse, we feel as though someone in the council has killed him but of course, aren't certain.

I've been trying to keep busy with Alpha responsibilities and not think about all of that because I know that I will just go crazy and become far more protective than normal with my pack but in particular, Gemma.

Kora and Gemma both were keeping themselves busy as well trying to go over what was in the book that Eldridge gave us in hopes that they'd find something useful but have not yet discovered anything. That is until I heard my door open in my office while I was going through several EMAIL's and looked up to see both her and Kora come walking in, carrying the book.

"Alpha, we found something." Gemma begins to tell me as she walks up to me and puts the book down in front of me.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Look at this." Gemma states as she points to the notes and sketch on the two pages in front of me.

"What the...." I began to say while looking at the sketch.

"I know, I couldn't believe it either but, he sketched his death. He sketched it a few years ago, according to the date. He knew he'd die and when and how. But do you recognize the three people there?" She asks me while fighting back some tears.

"It couldn't be. I thought they were on our side?" I asked in disbelief.

"So did I. But they've been against us since the start." She tells me.

I couldn't believe what I was reading and looking at. It was the lead Elder in the Wolf Council as well as the one from the Vampires and Witch Council, standing over Eldridge's body, just the way we found him.

"Oh my god. What the hell are we gonna do now? There's no one we can trust." I tell her.

"I know. I'm not sure in what to do either. But I think it's best if we all stay here and if we need supplies from somewhere, we get it from another place or I can try to make it myself, here. In fact, Kora and I were thinking of creating a protective barrier around these perimeters to help keep us safe."

"Okay." I nod my head in agreement. I'll try to think of something." I tell her.

"Alright. But, I don't think we should tell the others. I mean, other than Lorraine and Corwin but anyone else, I don't think it's a good idea right now." She suggests.

"I agree." I tell her.

"Well, we're gonna go and create that perimeter." Gemma says.

Her and Kora both leave while I mind-link Corwin to have both him and Lorraine come in here. When they came inside, they noticed the look on my face.

"Are you alright?" Corwin asks.

"Yeah. Close the door." I tell him.

He closes the door and both Lorraine and him walk up closer towards my desk and sit down in the chairs.

"What's going on?" Lorraine asks me.

I suddenly feel as though it's too hard for me to tell them. However, of course, I have to tell them.

"Gemma has brought to my attention moments ago that Eldridge foresaw his death and sketched it out."

"What? How could he do that? I didn't know he had that ability." Corwin states.

"Well he could and he also drew up how and who did it." I struggle to get out.

"Are you serious?" He asks me.

I nod my head and then grab the book and put it in front of both him and Lorraine and they both look at each other for a moment and then back at me with a surprised look on their faces.

"I'm not sure who we could trust now and right now, Gemma and Kora are placing a protective barrier around the house to make sure that we're all safe until we can figure something out." I explain to them.

"So, are you saying we can't leave?" Lorraine asks.

"Not until we figure out what's going on and what to do." I tell her with an apologetic look.

"But didn't both you and Gemma take over his position?" Corwin points out.

"Just like other titles, it has to be accepted by all councils and as of right now, since we don't know who we can trust yet, I'm considering them, again just for now, as our enemies and not our allies." I say with so much sorrow deep inside.

People you thought you could trust and have trusted and even looked up to all your life has just now shown a side to them that doesn't make any sense and you aren't sure about if it's real or not, it's hard to think otherwise. At least for me and at least for right now.

Next chapter will be posted soon! :)    Uh-Oh. If they can't trust them then what?!
