I woke up from another dream about Kenny. I swear I've dreamed about him every time I fell asleep since we got here. I got up and made the bed before throwing on some sweats and going to the bathroom to do my hygiene.
"Daddy!" I heard as I came out of the bathroom. I prayed Tiana was on the phone or talking to my mother about Aaron.
Unfortunately my prayers were too late.
"Hey beautiful, I missed you." I heard Aaron's voice boom out.
"I missed you too." She's said.
"Where's Mommy?" He asked and I quickly went back into my room.
"Upstairs."
A few seconds later I heard footsteps and he appeared in the doorway with Tiana on his hip.
"Hey baby." He said.
"What are you doing here?" I asked trying to figure out how he found us.
He came in and kissed my cheek,"I came to see you. I missed you."
"Tiana let's give your mommy and daddy some alone time. I have some leftover cookie dough in the fridge." My mother said. Aaron put Tiana down and she went to catch with her.
My fake smile disappeared after they left, "How did you find us?"
He wrapped his arms around my waist tightly, "You say that like you were hiding from me or something. You do know you can't hide from me, right?"
"I wasn't hiding." I lied.
"Good. I came to get you, so why don't you go and pack your things."
"I told of you I needed time to-"
I flinched as his palm softly made contact with my cheek. He took a deep breath, "Look, I said I was sorry and I really need you to come home with me. I let you have your tantrum now it's time to go. Don't upset me baby, just go get your stuff...please." He said.
"I don't wanna go-"
He pushed me away, "You see? This is why we always end up in situations like this babe. I'm trying to be patient because I promised you and Tiana I would do better. Why can't you just do what I say?" He complained. I started to protest again and he stepped closer to me,"Go. Now." He commanded.
Not wanting to make a scene, I went to my closet and pulled my duffle bag and Tiana's suitcase out. I started packing as he watched me closely.
"Mommy, are we leaving?" Tiana asked coming in and plopping in the bed.
"Yeah, so go hug grandma then finish packing."
"Okay." She said before taking off again. I zipped up her suitcase and sighed before picking up my bag and walking to the door.
Aaron grabbed my arm, "You know I love you, right?" He asked. I said nothing and nodded as usual. He smiled, "Good. Now hurry up we have to hit the road."
"What about the car?"
"I'll have one of my guys come get it."
We went downstairs where my mom and Tiana were waiting with Kat in his kennel.
"Leaving so soon?" Mommy asked.
"Yeah we have a lot going on at home." Aaron spoke for me.
"Okay...well I'll see you all later."
"Bye grandma." Tiana said.
"Bye sweetheart."
I hugged her, "Bye Mommy."
"Bye T."
"See you soon Mom." Aaron said.
"Bye and thanks again for the check." She said making me pause. I can't believe him.
"It's the least I could do for the woman who raise my beautiful wife here." He expressed while taking our bags opening the car door for us.
"Just precious. Okay, you all get home safe and call me." Mommy said with a wave.
"Yes ma'am." He said. When he got in the car he glared at me before starting the car.

After leaving Lou's place, I made a detour and stopped at a pay phone. I put some quarters in and dialed a number.
"It's been two months, you better have something." The voice said in his thick accent.
"I do, there's this machine...but I don't think it's as valuable as you think." I said.
"I'll be the judge of that? That's the only new technology?"
"That and another damn iPhone." I said shaking my head.
"Okay. I'll be in touch." He said before hanging up.
I went to the store to pick up some snacks and then walked back to Mr. Ross' house. I went around back and opened the basement door.
"Alright, let's makes this work." I said before I started moving furniture.

By the time we made it back to Philly, Tiana was out cold. We pulled into our driveway and I got her out of the car as Aaron grabbed the bags. We went in and I took Tiana to her room and laid her down.
When I returned to our bedroom Aaron was sitting on the bed. I just knew a fight was about to happen. Instead, he signaled for me to come sit next to him.
"We need to talk. We have a guest here, in the basement. His name is Richard and-"
"You brought a stranger into our house?" I asked standing up again.
"He's not a stranger. He works with me and he has no where to go. Lou was taking care of him but now that he's gone-"
"He can go find a shelter! We have Tiana here, for all we know this guy could be a killer, pedophile, anything!" I said as he let out an annoyed sigh.
"He's a veteran."
"I don't care, if Tiana and I are gonna be here then he can't."
He grabbed me waist, "Everything will be fine, just give it a chance."
"Aaron-"
"Shh. Now you have some making up to do for leaving me." He said pulling me into him. I looked at him crazy before wiggling out of his grip and going into the bathroom.
Halloween short story coming tomorrow...hopefully. I have so much to do😩
