"Wake up" said someone.
That someone was also poking me in the arm. I mumble for him to go away, but he didn't. Whoever this was had a death wish.
"Eurgh, stop poking me" I said.
A laugh was heard from the other side of the room. The poking stopped, but only for a little before starting again.
"Wake up. Come on wake up"
"I don't want to" I mumbled.
'Guardian can you make him stop?'
I waited for her answer... and waited... and waited while this guy poked me.
'Guardian?' I asked.
"Don't make me repeat myself"
The tone of his voice wasn't friendly anymore. It was an actual threat. I opened my eyes and as soon as my brain registered what was in front of me, I knew it was too late. About a dozen men in military uniforms were stationed around my room. I was terrified. The guy poking me was stupidly close to me. When he saw my reaction, he smiled.
"There we go. How are you doing today?" he asked.
'This can't be happening. Guardian, where the fuck are you?'
I continue to stare at the stranger.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" I asked.
I bet he could hear the fear in my voice because he back up a little. He signalled to the others, and they all left the room.
"Listen, little girl, I'll give you 5 minutes to change. If you don't, I'll kill one of your friends" he said with a smirk.
Guardian hasn't said anything since last night, so I bet I don't have access to her powers. I have no other choice but to listen to him. I slowly got out of the bed while staring him down. I crossed my arms and glared at him.
"If I'm going to change, you're going to have to leave" I said.
"Alright, but don't forget 5 minutes" he said then left.
The second he left the room, I heard multiple swears coming thru my head.
'Guardian?'
'Yes human child, I'm back'
'What happened?' I asked.
'They figured out my weakness. The leader has a talisman that renders me useless'
I headed over to the pill of close and quickly changed while chatting with Guardian for the next 5 minutes we have.
'What happened to the others? Do you have a plan?'
'I don't know. The talisman is blocking most of my powers. For now, I suggest you follow their orders. Be brave, don't die and make sure you stay away from the leader as much as you can'
'Alright, I'll try not to disappoint you' I said.
'I'm sure...' she cut as the guy entered the room again.
I was searching for whatever the talisman might look like. He wasn't wearing anything unusually... except a bright red necklace that could barely could be seen.
"Let's go" he said.
He pointed to the door as if to tell me to go first. I wonder what would happen if I take the necklace off of him. He didn't have a gun, which surprised me. I could possibly take him on, but I the army he had would probably stop me. I moved forward and left the room. There were two armed guys blocking each door on the second floor and about ten others were waiting downstairs.
"Let's get a move on. You, bring her to the car" the leader said while pointing to a random soldier to his right. "The rest of you follow me"
The soldier gripped my arm and led me downstairs. He was looking at the ground like he was scared to make eye contact with me. As soon as we reached the outside, Guardian came back.
'What did you do?' she asked.
'I'm following your orders by taking orders from the enemy' I said.
'Alright you're doing good. I'm going to try something alright? You might feel like your head is going to explode, but it's the only thing I can think could work'
'Alright go ahead' I said.
A few seconds later, when the soldier brought me to a line of black SUV, my head started to hurt. It wasn't the same as a headache. It felt more like my head was being kicked around like a soccer ball. I lost my balance and started wincing at the pain. The soldier tried to hold me up. Seconds later, his head was pierce by a bullet and I fell to the ground. My head stopped hurting, so I tried to search from where the bullet came from. The soldiers inside the house most of heard the sound, because they were all rushing outside. Luck wasn't on their side, because as soon as they reached the line of cars, they were sprayed down with bullets from a nearby bush.
"We got her" said a familiar voice.
Fuze merged out of the bush, carrying a gun and walking towards me. I was relieved and confused as to why he was here.
"Fuze?" I asked just to verify I wasn't going crazy.
"Yes little comrade, it's me" he said.
I ran towards him and hugged him.
"I missed you" I said.
"We missed you too" said Kapkan from behind me.
I looked over my shoulder. Bandit was leaning against one of the SUV, Kapkan was walking towards me and another unknown man wasn't too far away. I let go of Fuze and walked towards Kapkan.
"What are you doing here?" I said.
"Your little voice sent us a mental message saying to come her quickly. We were already not to far away, so we decided to investigate" said Bandit.
"She shorter than I expected" said the unknown man.
"Shut up Lion" said Fuze from behind me.
'So that's Lion' I said.
'Go get the Brits' ordered Guardian.
"We need to go back inside. The British team is still in their" I said.
They looked at each other.
"Bandit and Fuze should stay outside if any of them decide to run. Lion and I would go" said Kapkan.
"I'm coming with you" I said.
"No you're not" said Lion.
"I'd love to see you try to hold me back" I said.
I started walking towards the front door, not even waiting for the other two to follow. As I reached the door, someone pulled me backwards.
"At least let me go in first" said the Frenchie.
I moved aside and he entered the house. Once I was inside, I headed upstairs immediately. The guards from earlier were gone, so I went to go open up the first door. Inside was a snoring Sledge.
"I'll take care of him" said Kapkan from behind me. "Go find the others"
I nodded to him and went to open the second door. Inside I found Thatcher sleeping on the bed while Smoke was on a blow up mattress. I yelled out Lion's name and gestured him to take care of the two. When he saw both of them, he giggled to himself and said something in french. I left him to deal with both of them, but I think I saw he pull out a phone before I left. The third door led me to my bedroom, so I skipped it.
'Be careful' Guardian said as I was about to open up the fourth door.
'Careful of what?' I asked, but as soon as I opened the door I regret asking.
In the middle of a bed laid Mute with a knife thru his chest. There was blood all over the sheets. The bedroom window was broken and there was righting on the wall... in blood.
"I told you to listen to me little girl" it read.
'Fuck'
'Careful' repeated Guardian.
I looked around more. There were pieces of glass everywhere. I huffed out a breath and tipped towed closer to the bed. As I got closer, I couldn't help but start crying a bit. It looked like he was sleeping when he got stabbed. I climbed unto the bed and looked down at the young Brit. A loud scream was heard from the other room. Then a slap.
"Lion you cunt!" yelled Thatcher.
A small laugh escaped my lips, but quickly subsided as I looked back at Mute.
"What are you doing here Frenchie?" asked Smoke.
"Rescuing you because you're incompetent" he said.
Another slap was heard.
"Stop being an asshole" said Kapkan.
I concentrated on Mute and blocked out their jokes.
'Can we help him?' I said.
He looked dead. I checked for a pulse, but found nothing. This just made me sadder. He can't die.
'We can, but it'll take a lot of energy'
'Then do it' I said.
'You'll blackout' said Guardian.
'I don't care. Save him'
An extreme amount of energy moved to my hand. I moved it to his chest as my hand grew brighter and brighter. I closed my eyes and focused. Guardian was right, after about a minute, I felt extremely tired. As I opened my eyes to see if I did it or not, I fell forward and blacked out.
