Ten minutes later, Mom, Dad and I find ourselves standing in front of a blue house much like ours.
“I thought this house was pink before.” I whisper to my Dad.
“Thank God, they changed the color, that pink was horrendous.” Mumbles my Mom.
“Hi.”
We turn our heads, and a woman walks near us.
“Hi, I’m Cynthia Rogers.” She extends her hand at smiles at us, her smile reaching into her eye.
She shakes all of our hands and my parents introduce themselves.
“I’m Susan Waltkins, and this is my husband Robert Waltkins, and my daughter Hanna.”
We walk behind the movers truck, and the guy from before, I think his name is Dave is in the truck unsuccessfully trying to pull something out.
“Need a hand?” replies my Dad as he gets into the truck.
“Yes, please.” Replies Dave.
“Let’s go inside, there’s some stuff that I want to sort through.” Replies Cynthia, or as I should call her, Mrs. Rogers.
Both my mother and I follow behind her, going inside the garage then inside the house. As we enter, the floor is scattered with boxes labeled with: LIVING ROOM; KITCHEN;BATHROOM, TANNER’S ROOM; SARAHS ROOM; etc etc.
“The kids should be bringing these to the rooms, but I guess they’re not.” Replies Mrs. Rogers she turns to me and smiles. “Hanna, that’s your name right.”
I smile and nod at her. She has warm eyes and a very sincere smile. She’s about my height, and she has shoulder length brown straight hair. She looks young, but you can see that she’s a little bit older then my parents.
“Can you go upstairs and tell the kids to come downstairs and help, and if you can, can you help bring some stuff also?”
“Sure.” I reply back.
The structure is not so different from my house, so I’m able to weave myself inside it perfectly. The last time I was in here was about five years ago because the Taney’s had gone to vacation, you name it, Florida. Back then their walls were a bright yellow and it probably stayed like that until they left. The current color was a calm blue. And personally, it fit much better with the house. Well, much of what was the house at the moment. I reach the second floor and head towards the living room. It takes a couple tries but I finally find it.
In the middle of the room sits three kids. Well more like two teens and a kid.
“Mom, I said I was coming--” The girl stops mid sentence as she sits up and stares at me. “Who are you?”
“Hi, my name is Hanna. Um, your Mom told me to get you guys to help bring some boxes up or something. I’m your neighbor by the way.”
“Oh, alright.” She sits back down and continues to read her book, the title, “Pride and Prejudice.” I then realize that the two others are also reading, but I can’t see the title from where I’m standing. She then looks up at me, smiles, and motions for me to sit next to her. I peel myself of the wall which I was standing on and I go and sit down next to her. She closes her book and smiles at me again. The younger one sits up, closes her book and stares at me also.
“Hi…” I reply.
The older girl sticks outs her hand towards me. “Hi, I’m Elizabeth, and this is my younger sister Rebecca— ”
“BECCA, B-E-C-C-A, BECCA!” Says the little girl.
“That’s just a nickname, you can’t use nicknames to call yourself, you have to introduce your real name and then your nickname. For example, hello my name is Elizabeth but people call me Liz.”
