The Ruthless Ghost

Chapter-2

A new day awaits.  I might be a ghost but I do not hate new beginnings. Nobody does, after all. Life has to move on.

I live in a big rotten and old house, very overgrown with weeds. It is quite large for a  single person to live in. I remember the way my family used to roam in the house, how my wife would fight with me to buy a decent place to live in and not a house right at the center of the village and was thought to be cursed.

I remember my little daughter playing in the backyard all the time and talking to her imaginary friend. Never mind, they all are long gone now. And all left is me, a stupid spirit who want to be dangerous but ends up sleeping in a cupboard.

Just then the small device flashes indicating that it's fully charged. I can charge it with without any charger or electricity ( perks of being a ghost). But something catches my eyes. It states:

" Bravery passes on with blood. Alfia Summers claims to be helping yet another ghost out of this world to a new beginning. The brave daughter of Christine Summers all set to head towards the no named village, an epitome of haunted."

Below it is attached a photo of the village that I usually see on the google. As I read further, rumors follow:

"An old man Adam died in a burnt house with his family. Approximately at the age of 60 when the accident took place, Adam is the ghost of the village and curses everyone that disturbs him"

What the fudge! I was only 20 at that time. I don't even swear for God's sake. I might have destroyed the whole village but that doesn't mean I have to be that old. The ghost's skin never goes any old. I have the same body like I had when I died. I have kept same clothes on since then. I tried bathing but water washes the body, not soul.

I thought there was no point in washing off the dirt of body when my soul has already blackened.

As I drift my eyes back to the device I have in my  hand, I read further down and there comes she. A beautiful blonde, Alfia Summers, it says. As I search the name on Google, I read what the almighty has to say about her.

"Alfia Summers. Daughter of a great woman Christine Summers who devoted her life to the poor. Claiming to be able to see and converse with spirits, Alfia is known to the the savior of them. In spite of looking like a little girl, Alfia started her carrier at the tender age of 16 and continues to shine bright since 3 years now. Till now she has saved up to 50 ghosts and freed them from the world. Her next project is said to be the "haunted" village on the outskirts of the country. As per the resources, she will reach there within a week to continue her work on the ghosts."
