A/N: it's half last three. I've got to be up in three hours time. I'm so nice it all of you, writing at this hour.

(Evianna's POV)

"Ugh..." I moaned. My head was pounding, but I felt otherwise physically fine. I was tired, though.

"Evianna? Evianna, wake up! Wake UP!" That voice was so insistent. I groaned again.

"What?" I mumbled. My eyelids were heavy, but I forced them open to a world of blurriness.

"Thank God, Evianna! You fainted! Was your spouse that bad?" A worried voice said from above me. I focused my eyes - Jade.

"Spouse?" Then it all came flooding back. "Oh, yeah."

"I'm so sorry they were awful, maybe you can petition -"

"It wasn't bad. It was the shock," I explained, taking deep breaths, half-sure I'd read it wrong. "Read it."

"Are you sure?" Jade asked, sending me a quizzical look. I nodded, standing up off the filthy floor below me. I watched in mild fascination as she was frowning, before her eyes went comically wide and she made a choked sound, freezing in her place. Jade whirled around at the speed of light to face me.

"MARCUS?!" Jade yelled, staring, open-mouthed, at me. I merely nodded. It hadn't truly sunk in yet.

"Holy..." Was all Jade could apparently think to say. I shrugged.

Exactly one month later

It was the day of the meeting. I travelled to London last night, so I could get to the building thing on time. I'd be killed if I was late.

I was jittery. I was going to be meeting Marcus! Oh, yeah, I was marrying him, too. And don't forget the kids.

"Mr. Butler and Miss Sendell?" A voice called out to the waiting room. I gulped and stood up. I'd travelled here alone, as my parents couldn't get off work and Jade had school. Yippee. I walked towards the man standing at the corridor end in a suit with a weird moustache, before looking to my right.

Oh. My. God. That was Marcus Butler.

'DON'T TRIP, YOU USELESS THING!' A voice screamed in my head as my foot snagged on something, but I stopped in time so I didn't even stumble. 'Phew.' That was my head of fangirl quarters voice that had just said those two things.

I took another deep breath and smiled tentatively at Marcus under my fringe as we both reached the man. He smiled back, putting me at ease. Slightly. Gathering my courage, I murmured 'heelllllooooo,' causing him to laugh.

"This way." The man sounded bored, turning and sweeping quickly down the corridor. We hurried to catch up with him, entering an office and sitting down. "Well, you need to decide a wedding date, and book it so a Government official can be there to legalise it. Also, Miss Sendell, you will need to book here to have a fertility test, and you here, Mr. Butler." I raised my eyebrows at this. They'd been nothing about a fertility test mentioned in the law.

"Whatever for?" I said smoothly.

"So we can match you quickly with someone else if one of you are infertile." Mr. Moustache, as I was calling him, said slowly, as if he was talking to a child. I was going to show him exactly what I thought.

"And that's assuming we aren't desperately in love and actually want to stay together? Like, adoption or something?" Maybe winding him up wasn't the best thing, but I might as well have some fun while I had the opportunity.
