"We're not human" Those words reverberated through his mind as he tried to understand what exactly she meant. Sayeh looked at Bruce and extended her black feathered wings. "My full name is Sayeh King al Ghul and I'm a Grigori. One of the Shadow faction. We are the assassins who take care of problems that the other sects of the Grigori see and take care of keeping the balance of humanity. For this reason we are born without emotions so we can do what must be done. We're trained almost from birth how to emulate our emotions right down to each micro-expression. This changes when we meet our soulmates."

"How long can it take for a Grigori to meet their soulmate?" Bruce was in awe of what she was saying as well as being quite curious.

Sayeh licked her dry lips before answering. "Some are lucky and find them almost as soon as they get through puberty. Others can be waiting centuries. Finding sooner rather than later means less of a shock to the system when we do find the one. I am in the latter category." She blushed and looked down. "I've waited roughly six centuries for you" her voice was soft barely audible.

He blinked and got up from the couch and stood in front of her. Bruce placed his forefinger under her chin and lifted her head up so he could look into her eyes. He red cheeks made her green eyes stand out like small emeralds. "Good things come to those who wait." He brought his head down towards hers and gave her a soft kiss. "You don't look a day over 100," he joked and Sayeh laughed.

After taking a few moments to catch her breath she smiled to him. "You see why I insisted on it being your family history we did for the project?" Sayeh retracted her wings and looked around the study. She noticed a picture of Bruce with his mother and father. "I've watched over the Wayne family for a long time. Sadly I was not here when your parents were killed. It is one of my great failures and for that I am truly sorry Beloved." She refocused her gaze on his. "I swear to you that I will do all I can to find the ones responsible."

Bruce felt an initial anger but it quickly subsided. "I'm not going to blame you for their death so there is no reason to be sorry Sayeh. I welcome any help you can provide, but for now let's get the project done. Once there's no school work hanging over our heads I can show you the information that I've gathered." Bruce gave her a reassuring smile and walked back to the couch with her.

The two of them looked through old books to find the majority of their information. Sayeh filled in some of the blanks that the books and news articles didn't mention. She also told Bruce what she knew of his ancestors and a few amusing stories as well.
