The beeping was continuous and patterned.

Beep...beep...beep.

The line spiked up and down and it's patterned. They mentioned that meant her heart rate was steady. It was a good sign.

Ally had to believe that was a good sign.

Eight hours earlier

It was the first day Lucy had allowed Camila to spend with her and the Cuban was over the moon because, never willing to admit it, she had missed her deviant friend and all her antics. And Camila knew Lucy had put the restriction of hang-outs up in the fear that the younger girl would use her as a crutch in Lauren's absence, but that didn't make it easy on either of them.

Lucy had grown so attached to the consistency of her friendships with both Camila and Lauren that going a few days without seeing either felt almost wrong. So despite herself, Lucy was eager to see her friend and find out how she'd been spending her free time without her wife.

She was also excited to see the rest of the girls that night, everyone, aside from Lauren, would be going to her debut at one of the hottest clubs in the city. Lauren had already called to wish her good luck though claiming she didn't need it but when Lucy mentioned that she would take praise in the form of kisses from Camila, Lauren was quick to hang up, though still sending her a message later telling her to break a leg.

Needless to say, Vero was beyond proud of her wife for pursuing her career and was boasting to just about anyone who would hear her out about how amazingly talented Lucy was.

The day itself was tingling with excitement for everyone and Lucy allowed herself to lather in the thrill of it.

"You know if you dedicate this set to me, I can guarantee you'll get laid." Vero swung her arms around Lucy's neck before perching herself comfortably in her wife's lap, waggling her brows suggestively and causing Lucy to be putty in her hands.

"You say that as if I wouldn't be getting laid anyways," The older girl scoffed before pecking her wife's lips. "You know damn well we're fucking tonight."

"You're confident."

Lucy didn't bother answering Vero with words, instead she nestled her face into the girl's neck and breathed in, poking her tongue out to press wet kisses down the length of it until she reached the base, smirking when she felt Vero's breathing growing heavier.

"Like I said," Lucy's voice was hoarse and low, causing Vero to squirm in her lap. "I'm getting laid tonight."

Lucy's smirk grew as she leaned in to kiss Vero after hearing the soft patter of Camila's feet outside the door, pulling away just as her wife's lips grazed hers to answer the door, a playful smile marring her lips.

"Hello beautiful," The eccentric brunette opened the door just as Camila raised her hand to knock. "Long time, no see."

"And whose fault might that be?" The youngest Latina scoffed, her eyes finding Vero's and almost flinching back from the intense glare she received. "Whoa, what did I do?"

"It's what I didn't do." Lucy waved her wife's frustrations off and tossed her arm over Camila's shoulder. "So you're witnessing magic tonight."

"Hey, Camila." Vero managed to settle her frustrations and build up a smile for her friend, knowing it wasn't at all her fault that she was feeling the way she was feeling, that was all on her wife.

"Hey," The Cuban beamed before turning her attention back to Lucy. "So you're excited for tonight?"

"You have no idea, and I know I said that I don't want any help making it in the industry, but I am really glad you're coming tonight. It'll build up my rep a little that you're attending."

"No place I'd rather be, Luce."

And it was easy for all the girls to get back into the flow of things, Lucy discussing her past gigs and the last major one she had that had led to the one she scored tonight, Camila enthusing about a new album she was working on and Vero sharing her frustrations about working for some jackass that Lucy had been encouraging her to leave in her rear-view mirror.

Conversation flowed easily and before any of them really noticed, it was nearing the time to head to the nightclub, meaning Camila had to head back to her own apartment and change. She'd be going with Ally, Troy, Normani and Dinah and she just knew that Ally would want to rush all of them along.

So after wishing Lucy the best of luck and apologising to Vero for the third time that day for interrupting whatever the pair were about to get up to prior to her arrival, Camila finally slipped out of the apartment and rushed back to her own.

Which happened to be a stroke of luck on her part because as the clock hit nine, Ally's fists were ratting at the door eagerly...almost impatiently. Camila had just managed to zip up her dress, casting a desperate plea to Leo as if the dog could help her with her overzealous older friend, before opening her bedroom door for Ally to step in. The smaller girl offered the Cuban a mere second to make sure Leo had food and water in his bowl before she dragged Camila towards the elevator and hurried them along to the car.

Camila noticed that Dinah was still struggling to get an earring in whilst Normani held a mirror up for her and she figured their older friend hadn't spared them any mercy in her rush to get to the club either.

"I swear, Smallz, if I stab myself with my earring, I'll drag you." The Polynesian's eyes shot daggers at Ally in the front seat. "Lucy probably hasn't even set up yet, there's still some low key DJ up before she drops her set."

"This is her first huge gig, big names are gonna be there and she needs to know we're there for it." Ally chastised. "And knowing you, we would be there just as she finishes up if I didn't get us all in the car."

"She's kind of right." Camila shrugged, earning herself a colder glare than even Ally.

"Boo, you spent five minutes painting one nail today," Normani sighed, tucking the mirror away after Dinah successfully got the earring in. "Ally's got a point."

"See Troy, I told you," The blonde scoffed, flicking her hair so vigorously that the jingling of her earrings rang through the car. "These hoes ain't loyal."

"I'm Switzerland in all you female disputes, don't you forget it." Troy rolled his eyes in the driver's seat. "Hey Camila."

"Hi Troy!" The Cuban offered their driver a wide smile, her excitement for Lucy building up the longer they drove. "Thanks for not drinking tonight."

"I figured I'd be carrying Dinah back to the car, better to keep a clear head."

"Rude." Dinah sneered before crossing her arms. "And just because you said that, I'm not drinking."

She lied.

Dinah was the first at the bar once they made their way into the club and she had shots lined up for everyone, Troy included, which she insisted Ally drink on his behalf. The music was blasting and Camila found herself reminded why she didn't like big parties and drinking. The place was all heat and blinding lights and the atmosphere was thick with sexual tension. Boys eyed every one of them down and one had even tried to approach Normani before Dinah shot him one of her looks that practically declared him dead.

Camila found herself glad that she stuck close to Ally and Troy, the former locking their arms together until they made it to the VIP booth upstairs where Lucy sat nervously bouncing her leg and Vero sipped at a glass containing an amber liquid.
