Hearing his name brought a blush to my face. I looked down at my feet sheepishly. What was I supposed to say? I wouldn't say that I liked him yet but I did find myself attracted to him. I mean, who wouldn't? With his looks, I'm sure the whole female population has fallen in love with him. But he was a really nice person to be with even though he was a bit cocky sometimes.

Maybe I really did like him.

I turned back to Leslie and Brea and flashed them a smile, "I don't really know nor does it matter."

Brea gasped in feigned shock, "Chloe is brutally honest!" Leslie and I chuckled at her loud outburst.

"Let's wave that aside. Let's focus on you guys. I haven't heard anything about your love life and now I really am curious. Do you guys have a secret boyfriend somewhere?" I wiggled my eyebrows at them.

Brea let out a nervous laugh and I directed my stare at her, "Well come on! Spill the beans!"

"There's this guy that I really like but I don't really talk to him. And I think he's with someone else," she admitted sadly with her brows drawn. I looked at her with a pitiful look. I could never imagine liking someone who already had someone else.

I placed my arms around her to comfort her while we changed the topic.

The next few days, I returned to my daily routine of training and treating patients but this time, I met up frequently with Liam to solve the clues. I also did train Leslie, Brea and Xander and I could tell that Theo was getting frustrated. We often ended up taking over a lot of the patients when we realised that the other doctors weren't capable of treating them.

"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?" yelled a doctor. I turned to him with a smirk.

"Doing something you can't."

I turned back to the patient who was writing in pain on the bed. He was suffering from a poison that was dissolving his organs from the inside. The problem was, none of the doctors had ever healed that specific type of poison and seeing that I was the only one capable of saving him, I stepped up.

Only to be interrupted by one of the doctors on the higher rank. They knew that I was far better than them and constantly tried to blame me for the death of patients. The thing was, all my patients lived.

I placed my hands on the man, embracing the warmth that erupted within me. I channeled that warmth into the man and watched as his breathing became more stable. His vitals were stable as well and I let out a sigh of relief, he was in critical condition and would have died.

I turned to the previous doctor that had tried to stop me, "Try learning something new to save people, you pathetic jerk!"

I stormed back to my position, furious that they would risk lives just to keep their positions. On the other hand, Leslie, Brea and Xander had progressed a lot and they were even better than some of the higher ranking doctors.

When we entered the dining room for lunch, there was a lot of bustling and murmurs going around in the dining hall. I turned to Xander who was walking beside me, "Hey, do you know what's going on?"

"I have no idea. Hold on, I'll ask someone."

I nodded gratefully and headed towards the girls who had already found seats for us.

"Any idea why the whole dining hall is so active today?" I asked them. Brea was the one who answered my question, saying that Jax had requested for a meeting to make an announcement.

While we were eating, we were approached by one of Jax's messengers. We looked at him questioningly, not knowing why he was there. He cleared his throat before speaking, "Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I am here to announce that the Head of The Buried would like a meeting to be held at eight pm tonight after dinner. Attire is to be casual and please do not be late. Thank you."

With that, he gave a slight bow and turned on his heels, striding out of the dining hall.

"That was a lovely conversation," Leslie commented.
