I never saw it coming. Alex wasn't an outcast. In fact, most would have dubbed him the most popular guy in school. My brother was the star basketball player, he was a Michigan State commit, had already been looked at by the NBA (and was said to be one of the first picks in the draft by his Junior year), and had the prettiest and most popular girl in the school as his girlfriend. He wasn't one of those kids that you would expect to shoot up a school. You know who I'm talking about. The outcasts that are bullied and are socially awkward and have no one to turn to. They have that dark emo side and never seem to be happy, which is understandable because of how crappy they are treated. It isnt necessarily always those kids, but that of course is who everyone thinks of when they hear about these incidents. You never expect the kids like my brother. Why would you?
But that tape changed everything, and I came to find out that anyone could be a monster, just in disguise. I use to look up to my brother. I use to strive to be just like him (though I never got close). Now, all I see is a cold-blooded killer, a master manipulator, and an evil soul.
Everyone blames me for what happened, saying I didn't try hard enough to stop it and that I was the cause of his actions. The thing is, I did try to stop him. I went to such great lengths to so so, but I couldn't. Now I'm paying for my brothers actions, all because we are blood related. I never thought these words would come out of my mouth...I hate him. And I will make him pay.
