Sitting back in the passengers’ seat, I watched him start the engine and drive away quietly.

« So um-» I started trying to break the awkward silence.

« I’m not telling you where we are going» he said smiling cheekily

I rolled my eyes

« Jerk» I said playfully

« Bitch» he answered back chuckling

I playfully pushed his shoulder giggling at how immature we were being

We finally pulled up in a forest near the abandoned house where Jason and his crew lives and where I technically was staying.

« What are we doing here» I asked while getting out of the car

I watched Jason walk to the back of the car and take a tree and two shovels out of the big trunk

« Number three: Plant a tree» Jason quoted from my book while holding back his laughter.

I playfully rolled my eyes, holding back my laughter as well.

« I was like 12 when I wrote this» I argued.

« Whatever makes you feel better babe» he answered back

I looked down blushing at the fact that he called me babe.

I took a shovel out of his hand and started walking towards trying to find a place to plant our tree.

« Here» I said while planting my shovel in spot that I decided.

Nodding Jason started digging as I tried to help him knowing I wasn’t strong enough.

« Ugh! » I sighted frustrated at the fact that I couldn’t dig a hole

« How are you so good at digging holes? » I asked Jason while sitting on the ground giving up.

He looked at me his eyebrows lifting up, giving me a heads up that I probably didn’t want to know.

I nodded awkwardly

« Never mind...» I said and stood back up

He started chuckling

« You’re cute» he complimented smiling, his eyes focused on the hole that he was nearly done digging

« Thanks» I thanked trying hard not to blush.

Once Jason was done digging, we placed the tree in the hole and gently placed the dirt around it, making sure it would stay up.

Sighting exhausted, we both sat down beside the tree.

« What should we call it» I asked breaking the comfortable silence

He looked at me questionably

« What do you mean? » he asked amused

« What should we call our tree? » I asked again more clearly

He turned around and looked into my eyes

« We should call it Japril » he said smiling

« Japril? » I asked confused

« Yeah Jason+ April…Japril» he said smiling, obviously finding himself hilarious

I started laughing at his imagination

« Alright, Japril it is» I said smiling

He smiled back and brought me closer to him, making me rest my hand on his chest while he was lying down on his back.

Closing my eyes I focused on his heart beat.

I woke up the next morning realizing I was back at the abandoned house, lying down in the bed that I was assigned to.

I got up slowly and walked to the bathroom, shrugging I stepped in the shower, letting the hot water collide with my muscles, brining me a calming sensation.

Stepping out, I blow dried my hair and got dressed, smiling I looked at myself in the mirror, for once in five days actually pleased with what I was wearing since the clothes belonged to me.

Coming out of the bathroom I notice a worried Jason on my bed

« Jason? » I asked getting worried too

He looked out letting out a relieved breath

« I thought you left» he said slowly getting up, his cheeks getting red from embarrassment

I started laughing

« And where would I go? » I asked amused

He came closer to me, our nose almost touching

« Away from me...» he answered, hurt filling his voice

I smiled reassuringly

« I would never do that McCann, you know, turns out you’re not bad company» I said smiling

He chuckled

« You’re not bad company yourself Lee» he complimented back.

« Let’s G-» he started

« Yeah let’s go I get it » I cut him off laughing and headed once more to the car.

« Let me guess, Number four? » I guessed smiling

He smiled back

« You’re good, but do you know what’s on number four? » he asked with a mischievous grin

« Um- no» I said getting nervous considering the grin he just gave me

He didn’t answer; he just continued to fix the road, giving me something to worry about.
