Quick story.
One day my ex showed me a picture of their family when they were young. It was a picture of the mom with the two lil kids smiling happily. Their mom always reminded me of a raccoon because she had some dark, almost black circles around her eyes, even in the photo they were there.
I kept thinking of the photo the whole day for some reason.
We hung out for the whole day, at night while we were walking him they took a seat on a railing to tie their shoes. I stood next to them, waiting. In the distance I saw a family of three turn the corner. The two kids came into view first, then the mom. I stared at her red fur coat.
"What the hell? There's no way she's from here." I thought to myself. "But that coat looks familiar...Where?"
Suddenly the family made a turn towards us and I felt a shiver run down my spine. I felt like time had slowed down.
The two kids stopped running and walked in front of their mom.
"Nah... No way..... It was the photo! I saw that coat in the photo! The mom was wearing that exact red fur coat! And now that I look at the kids they had the same clothes on too!"
I was frozen in place staring at the ladies face. We held eye contact until she got about five feet away. The same dark raccoon like circles were around her eyes and they all had the same happy expressions. The photo came to life.
The family walked closer to us slowly.
"Why are they getting so close to us!?"
I thought to myself, feeling a weird sensation wash over me.
Suddenly, as the mom walked by my ex she turned her head towards them. I watched horrified. The mom's eyes had widen and her expression was that of hate and rage. I moved to the side before they could bump me. Her expression changed back to the happy one she had in the photo when she walked by me.
When my ex finally finished tying their shoes, they looked up at me confused. I told them what had happened and we hurried home.
"Creepy." They replied.
