I ran back to Mary

"W-what's going on!?!"

"It's okay," she said putting her hands on my shoulders and gently pulling me away.

"Those people were going to hurt us Hadley"

"B-but why did you put them in a freaking storage locker?!?!"

"I told you" she said as her voice was getting very stern

" We did that to keep you and everyone else SAFE!"

I nodded and went back to my room.

The image of the look on the boys face when Gareth called "The Ringleader" was burned into the back of my head.

The next morning I woke up and went to the court yard and asked Mary for a plate.

As I was sitting there eating I decided that I needed to do something about those people.

I mean I couldn't just let them rot there and- and DIE!

So after breakfast i decided to go find the one person I trusted most here, Zoee. She was my friend and I knew she wouldn't tell anyone.

I finally found her out at the front caring for the sunflowers.

"Hey can I talk to you?"

"Yea sure, what's up?"

"We should probably go somewhere private"

We walked back to my room and I locked the door behind us.

"Okay so you know those people that stormed in yesterday from the back entrance? I- I think we should help them."

"ARE YOU CRAZY?!?!?"

"Maybe."

We just sat there in silence for a couple minutes.

" I guess your really not that crazy," she finally said

" I mean it's not like those people are going to do anything but die in there, they were just trying to survive."

I knew I could trust her.

So we stayed up most of the night planning on how to get them out.

Zoee was going to put sleeping pills ( which she had found rummaging through the things that were left behind in her room )

Into the snipers and Gareths drinks when she went to serve them lunch.

I would run to the train car and get out the 4 people and lead them out through the West entrance. Zoee would meet us there with supplies and we would all leave and head toward the Mississippi River and look for shelter from there.

I knew that our idea was crazy but it was so crazy it may just work.
