(I know, I know, another Taennie chapter. Now, I know what you guys are thinking: where's the Jinsoo? What ever happened to Yoonie? Where the hell is Vkook??? I hear you. I promise, I'll get to those other ships, I just need time to flesh out the ones I prefer for the time being. Bear with me people. Now, on with the story! Btw, this is a long one, so be prepared for multiple pages.)
Jennie's PoV:
It's been a month since I left Seoul for New Zealand.
One long month without my friends, my college, and most importantly, my boyfriend.
Due to my Mother's sudden breast cancer diagnosis, I had to fly to New Zealand to watch over her, and also comfort family.
Although I want to stay by my Mother's side, I've been itching to just pack my things and fly back to Seoul, just so I could see everyone again, especially Taehyung.
I miss him so much, it hurts.
Yes, we've face timed and Skyped a couple of times, but somehow we still feel disconnected.
I'm in my second semester in my sophomore year of college, but I had to leave, putting my education on pause momentarily.
I talked to the head administrator of the college, and she respectively understood the issue, since she lost her grandmother to the same disease.
Watching over my Mother can both fill my heart with happiness and fill it with sorrow and fear.
I have to keep reminding myself that she'll live, but, at the same time, I second guess myself.
Just because she's alive today, doesn't mean she will be tomorrow or the day after.
I felt my eyes start to tear up at the thought.
I don't want to lose my Mother, not so suddenly.
My thoughts drifted back to Taehyung, and my eyes overflowed with tears.
I let out a sob and let my tears fall.
They spilled out like water from a waterfall, and they couldn't stop, not until I heard a faint but recognizable knock on my door.
I quickly wiped my eyes and walked towards the door, figuring it was one of the housekeepers.
I opened the door, and my eyes widened in surprise when I saw my Mother standing there, a small smile on her face.
"Mom, what are you doing here? You should be resting!"
I looked into the hallway. No housekeepers in sight.
"I know, I know, I just wanted to come see how you're holding up."
She grabbed both of my hands and looked into my eyes, and I noticed how her pupils darted back and forth with worry.
"Mom, I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me, it should be the other way around, actually."
"Honey," She rested her soft hand on my cheek, "Don't think I haven't noticed your behavior lately. Obviously, you've been crying, since your eyes are red."
I mentally cursed myself for my breakdown earlier and looked down to the floor.
"Jennie, I know you miss your friends, and I know you miss Taehyung, and it hurts me when I have to keep reminding myself that I'm the reason you had to leave."
The familiar thickness in my throat came back, and I had to stop myself from leaning into her shoulder and crying my eyes out.
But, a part of me wanted to do just that.
