Second Month

As I walked through the doctors office I felt nervous and a little sad. Nervous because this would be a whole new experience for me and I didn't know how it would go. Sad because Nick wasn't here with me.

I walked up to the counter of the doctor's office where a receptionist sat waiting with a smile.

"Hi, I have an appointment scheduled with Doctor Abrizeo." I told the woman as I smiled.

"Alright and what was your name?" She asked as she waited to type on her computer.

"Samantha Anderson." I replied as I ran a hand over my stomach trying to contain the vomit I had creeping at the back of my throat. I plastered a smile on my face as I waited for her instruction to take a seat.

She looked back up at me after typing some on her keyboard and grabbed a pen from a cup. "Alrighty so, I'm just going to go ahead and have you fill this out." She said as she set a clipboard with papers attached onto the counter. She then set the pen on top of it all and slid it over to me.

"Alrighty. Thank you." I replied and took a seat in the corner of the waiting room with an end table. I set the papers down on the table and made my way over to the bathroom. I walked in and quickly shut the bolt, locking the door behind me. I then sped walked over to the toilet and got there just in time as I heaved vomit into the toilet.

I tried not to make too much noise but I couldn't tell if I was or not by the way the bathroom seemed to magnify all the noises. When I had gotten it all out of my system, I fished mouthwash out of my purse along with a traveling tooth brush and paste set I had been carrying around with me every since the nausea all started.

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled. "I can't wait to meet you and don't get me wrong I love being pregnant but baby, this has to stop." I whispered to my stomach as I ran a hand over my tummy. It was adorable, I was beginning to have a bump now and I couldn't be more proud to be a mom.

I finished spitting and rinsing out my mouth with mouthwash and toothpaste before walking back out into the waiting room. Luckily, there was only two other moms in the room and they just smiled at me as I walked back to my seat. They knew. They knew what it was like I'm sure so I didn't feel as nervous or embarrassed as I thought I would.

I grabbed the paperwork I had set on the table and began filling it all out. All of the questions were simple as in what my name was and my insurance information. The last page was filled with allergy questions which was quick because I wasn't allergic to anything.

I finished the paper work and stood up to walk to the counter and turned in the papers. I began to walk back to my seat when just as I was about to sit down a nurse came through the door.

"Samantha Anderson?" I smiled at the nurse and grabbed my purse before walking to meet her.

"Hi." I said as I shook her hand.

"Hello." She replied with a smile. "Right this way." She then led me to a small office down the hall and we entered. I sat in a chair across from her as she sat at her computer.

"Alright Mrs. Anderson, I see we are here today for our first ultrasound." She beamed at me. She then grabbed a blood pressure thing and held it in her hands.

I nodded. "Yes." She then turned back to her computer and moved the mouse, clicking a few times.

"Alright." She started. "Well if you would just give me your right arm please and we can get started. I did as she asked and she took my blood pressure, pumping and pumping until slowly releasing the pressure in the end.
