The rugged countryside passed by as the Hobbits journeyed on, lead by Strider. At the foot of a distant hill, Strider stopped, looking up out into the vacant land topped by an ancient ruin. "This was once the great Watchtower of Amon Sul." He explained. "We shall rest here tonight." Velasa's gaze flickered from Strider to the ruins, eyes wide with curiosity.

Frodo, Merry, and Pippin collapsed into a small hollow, halfway up Weathertop; muddy and exhausted. Strider dropped five swords at their feet; four looked like daggers compared to the leather shifted one, Velasa instantly picked up the curved sword and turned looked at Strider, his eye sparkled with amusement before turning back to the Hobbits. "These are for you, keep them close. I'm going to have a look around." He explained. "Stay here." Mere minutes after the Ranger left both Velasa and Frodo drifted off into a well-needed sleep, leaning against each other.

Frodo's eyes flickered open, he sat up suddenly, waking Velasa who's head had rested lightly on his stomach, and sniffing the air. Sam, Merry and Pippin sat a few metres away huddled over a small fire; sausages and bacon sizzle in a hot frying pan. "What are you doing?" Frodo cried, standing up. Velasa sat up, brushing the dirt off the sleeves of her jumper. "Tomatoes, sausages, and crispy bacon." Merry smiled at the brown-haired Hobbit.

"Don't worry Mr Frodo, we saved some for you, you too Velasa," Sam reassured; the three other Hobbit's seemed to be at ease as they sat around the fire; Frodo and Velasa stared at them, tense and obviously panicked. "Put it out, you fools! Put it out!" Frodo rushed towards the fire and desperately kicked dirt onto the fire. "Oh, that's nice," Pippin whined. "ash on my tomatoes!" A sudden and monstrous shriek carried on the wind echoed throughout the silent countryside. Velasa peaked over the edge and her breath caught in her throat as five Ringwraiths ran up the steep slope unnaturally fast.

"Go!" Frodo yelled as the Hobbits clambered desperately towards the summit, clutching their swords. The small group raced into a ring of broken stones on the ruined base of the ancient tower. The Hobbits stood back-to-back in the centre of the ring, waiting for the first assault; one by one, the five Ringwraiths appeared on the outside of the ring, brandishing gleaming swords. They moved slowly towards the Hobbits; in the centre is their leader, The Witch King, taller than the rest and twice as menacing. "Back you devils!" Sam rushed forward with a cry; he swung his sword at the Witch King, who blocked the blow with his own sword; Sam's blade shattered to the ground as the Witch King lashed out with his fist, sending Sam flying. Merry and Pippin, overcome with fear throw themselves flat on the ground. Velasa watched the Dark Rider's; she lunged the knife towards one of the hooded figures in an attempt to catch it off guard. She missed by an inch as the Ringwraith slinked back, raising its arm and slamming it into her lower chest; sending the brown-haired woman flying backwards, the air knocked right out of her lungs.

The Ringwraiths close in on Frodo; a venomous whisper danced in his head. Frodo shut his eyes and staggered back, desperately resisting the Wraith's whispering. His hand reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring; the five Ringwraiths utter a chilling screech of excitement. Unable to resist any longer; Frodo fell to his knees and slipped on the ring, in an instant he disappeared; Sam screamed. Suddenly, Strider charged at the Ringwraiths, wielding his sword in one hand and a flaming torch in the other; he seemed to move in slow motion visible through a sea of mist as Velasa sank to the ground; behind her she could make out the faint image of a Black Rider fleeing, it's head engulfed in flames.

With drained strength, Velasa staggered to her feet; her head and back numb with pain. Seeing Frodo lying in the middle of the stone ring, Sam rushed over to him horrified; another Ringwraith screamed, burning as the others screech fearfully at the flames and turned and fleed from the Weathertop summit. "Mr Frodo!" Sam cried, panicked. Both Velasa and Strider rushed to kneel before the Hobbit; the Ranger snatching up the dagger that had fallen to the ground next to Frodo; staring gravely at the long, thin, blade. "Help him, Strider!" Sam cried. The human turned back to the panicking Hobbits with a grim look on his face. "He's been stabbed by a Morgul blade." The blade in his hand started to melt as he held it; like smoke rising into the air. Strider threw the hilt down in disgust. "Do something!" Sam cried.

"This is beyond my skill to heal," Strider spoke urgently, his face twisted with a mix of anger and worry were clear in his eyes. "He needs Elvish medicine." He said hurriedly, lifting Frodo onto his shoulders.
