Franny's POV
The plane ride to Mexico was spent by me sleeping the entire time. I hate planes, so the only way for me to get through it is sleeping. I can't even describe how excited I was to be able to go on a trip with all of my friends. Bobby, Bry, Corinna, Jc, Chelsey, Emily, Corey, and Kian and I all going away together, how much better could it get?
We all arrived at the resort we were staying at, and boy was it beautiful. It was right by the beach and the resort itself had a massive pool in the middle. Each room had its' own balcony, all of which were connected. Kian and I were in one room, Bobby and Bry in another, then Jc and Chelsey, and lastly is Corinna, Emily and Corey who are all sharing the last room. I was so happy to be able to go away with Kian, even just for a few days.
"Is everyone down to go to dinner in an hour or two?" Bobby asked as we all made our way down the hall, heading to our rooms.
"I am!" I cheered.
"Me too." Kian added.
"Yeah I'm down." everyone added on.
"Alright, let's meet in the lobby at seven." Bobby replied as he opened his hotel door.
Kian and I entered our room, immediately plopping down on the bed. After taking in the view for a few moments, I decided to get ready for dinner. I threw on a gray t-shirt dress, since it was light but dressy, and put on my nude sandals. I didn't wanna put on too much makeup, so I just did the basics and left my hair in its' natural wavy state. Kian came out of the bathroom wearing his white ripped tee and black jeans, sneakers and a hat.
God he's so attractive.
"You look so beautiful." He said, giving me a kiss.
"Have you seen yourself?" I smirked.
"Yeah, I guess I'm alright looking." He winked. "We should head to the lobby and wait for everyone."
"Let's go." I got up and grabbed his hand as we walked out the door, making our way down to the lobby. We were the first ones down there, so we sat on the couches and waited for everyone to arrive.
"Can you believe we're in Mexico right now? I feel like I'm in a dream or something." My eyes glistened as I stared at the view.
"It's so surreal. I wouldn't wanna be anywhere else." Kian smiled back, placing his hand on my back.
One by one the others made their way to us, and we were soon making our way to the resorts' outdoor restaurant. It was gorgeous. There were glass tables and chairs, as well as string lights that lit up the entire area. I sat down on the end of the table, Kian to the left of me and Corinna directly in front of me. I noticed Kian had started acting weird and anxious after we had ordered our food, but I was unsure as to why.
"What's wrong?" I whispered to him, not wanting anyone else to hear.
"Nothing." Kian replied with a snappy tone. I wasn't up for fighting the first night we got here, so I didn't even bother pushing him further. Corinna gave me a sympathetic look, I think she noticed Kian's short attitude and felt bad. I shrugged my shoulders, as if saying I have no idea, nor do I care right now.
Our meal was delicious, but my good mood was cut short as we were leaving the restaurant, when Kian stormed off without even waiting for me.
"What the fuck is his problem?" Corinna asked, walking next to me along the path.
"I don't know. He was fine when we got here, then he just snapped."
"I heard him talking to Jc at the airport about some text he got, he seemed nervous."
What text? Why did he tell Jc and not me?
"Now that I think about it, he was acting strange before we left. Said it was just his mom though, should I ask him or do I just leave it alone?" I asked Corinna.
"Honestly, just ask. He seemed like he didn't wanna tell you, so I think you're just gonna have to get it out of him." Corinna shrugged.
What was he hiding from me? I'm not really the jealous type in our relationship, so I don't think it had to do with another girl, but what else could it be?
I opened the door to our room slowly, noticing Kian laying on the bed going through his phone.
"What the fuck was that about?" I asked him, taking my heels off.
"What was what about?"
"Don't do that. You know what I'm talking about." I hate when he does this, acting like he didn't do anything or wasn't mad instead of just admitting it.
"I just don't feel great and wanted to get back. That's it." He replied, putting his phone on the nightstand and rolling onto his side to face away from me.
"Kian it's the first night, I'm not spending this whole trip with you having an attitude."
"I don't have an attitude I just don't feel good, drop it." He rubbed his eyes in frustration.
I sighed and tossed my phone on the bed, fed up with his shit.
"Who texted you earlier?" I was getting straight to the point, tired of avoiding the question.
"What?" He furrowed his brows in confusing, though I knew he knew what I meant.
"At the airport, I heard you talking to Jc about a text that you didn't wanna show me. What was it?" I didn't wanna throw Corinna under the bus, I knew he'd be pissed at her for telling me.
"It was just some random number trying to scare me. That's all. Next time don't eavesdrop on my conversations."
"Well next time just tell me in the first place instead of acting like a dick. What did the text say?"
"It said 'watch your back' or something like that. I didn't tell you cause I didn't want to creep you out." He gave me a look as if that line would make me less mad, but it didn't.
"Whatever, I don't care. I'm not gonna fight with you about stupid shit while we're on vacation." I grabbed a t-shirt and shorts out of my suitcase and headed into the bathroom to change, my mood ruined. I threw on my clothes and took off my makeup, peacefully until Kian knocked on the bathroom door.
"Baby, I'm sorry." He said softly through the door.
"It's fine, just drop it." I replied, using his own line against him.
I heard him let out a sigh of frustration, so I opened the door to talk.
"I'm sorry for snapping at you, I don't know what came over me. I promise I won't let it happen again, I'm not gonna ruin this trip." He said whilst leaning against the doorway, hands in his pockets.
"I know. Just tell me next time. I'd rather know what's happening than have you stress about trying to tell me, I don't care what it is." I hated that I forgive him so quickly, but I know he didn't mean to snap. Plus, it's hard to stay mad at a face like that.
"I will, I promise." He placed a soft kiss on my forehead. "Can we go to bed now, I'm exhausted from today."
"Yeah, I'll be there in one second." I smiled, closing the door behind him so I could finish getting ready for bed.
The text had gave me an unsettling feeling in my stomach, but I wanted to enjoy this vacation with no worries. Whoever sent it was probably just trying to get a reaction out of Kian, which most of the time wasn't very hard. I hoped that whatever it was, it was only a one time thing.
—
The next day was spent tanning by the beach, and Kian was in a much better mood than last night. All the boys had gone to the bar to grab more drinks, since most of them had fake ID's, not that anyone here even bothered to check them.
"Did you ask Kian about the text last night?" Corinna asked, blocking her eyes from the sun to look over at me.
"Yeah, he said that it was a random number that texted him telling him to 'watch his back'." I said, putting air quotes up with my fingers.
"What the hell? Who would say that?"
"I don't know, but he said that it was probably just a joke. We fought about it for a few but then we just got over it. I figured the more I press him about it the more annoyed he'll get, so I stopped." I shrugged my shoulders.
"Yeah, it's not worth fighting over. Plus he was only hiding it to not scare you."
"I know, I was just mad at him for being a dick."
"It's Kian, did you expect anything else?" Corinna laughed.
"You're right." I laughed back. It was true, Kian turned into a dick when he was in a bad mood. I've always called him out for it though, so he tries his best around me to not let his anger get the best of him.
The boys made their way back with the drinks, and we all enjoyed ourselves until it was time to go back inside. To say my skin was burnt would be an understatement, but I wasn't complaining, I haven't been tan in forever. All of the guys wanted to go to the bar and have a night out, so the girls decided to all stay in Emily and Corinna's room and have a girls' night, since it was the biggest.
"I say we all do face masks and have a bottle of wine. There's one in the fridge, it came with the room!" Emily said excitedly.
"I'm in!" We all agreed.
A bottle of wine and a whole lot of girl talk later, the boys started knocking on our door.
"Fran come here!" Bobby yelled through the door.
I got up off the bed and opened the door to see Bobby and Corey holding a shitfaced Kian up.
"Are you kidding me? You guys let him get this drunk?" I gave them a look of desperation as all three of us carried him to our room.
"Don't blame us, blame him!" Corey exclaimed.
We made it to the room and threw Kian down on the bed before the boys headed back to their rooms.
"Good luck with him!" They both yelled while walking out. I rolled my eyes back at them in frustration.
"Frannyyyy." Kian dragged on as I untied his shoes. "I'm s-sorry for getting drunk." He managed to stumble out.
"It's fine, just go to bed babe." I said as I pulled the blanket over his sprawled out body. I pushed him over to his side of the bed so that there was room for me to sleep next to him.
I wasn't mad at him for getting shitfaced, we were on vacation after all. I guess I was just annoyed that it got to the point where he couldn't even walk or get out a full sentence. Why'd he feel the need to get so drunk?
His phone had flung onto the floor when we threw him on the bed. I went to put it back on the nightstand when I saw a text from another random number.
"You're lucky you got back to your room when you did, your girlfriend might not be so lucky next time" The text read.
What the fuck?
