Game Night 🎮

It was finally Saturday! Josephine loved Saturdays not only because Nines doesn't have to work those days, but because they have game night. Every Saturday, Nines and Josephine invite over a few people and they play games. Whether it be board games or video games. Tonight it was Josephine's turn to pick what they play. She smiled deviously as she set up the Wii. She ensured all four remotes had fully charged batteries. She put the disc in and watched it load. Nines hated this game because he was so bad at it. Watching him rage was going to be the best part of tonight. 

The doorbell rang and Nines answered it. "Hey Hank and Connor," Nines said as he stepped aside to let them in. "What game are we playing tonight?" Connor asked. "It's Josephine's turn to choose and she's been keeping it a secret," Nines replied. Hank and Connor smirked then went to the living room. The doorbell rang again and it was Gavin and Tina. "I've been mentally preparing for tonight all week," Gavin said once they were inside. "Trust me he has," Tina said. "I believe you," Nines said. They all went to the living room to help set up the last few things. Once everyone was settled on the couch or the armchairs, Nines asked, "What game are we playing?" His question was answered by an all too familiar, "Mario Kart Wii! Wahoo!" "No. No. No. No," Nines said as Josephine handed him the player two remote. "What's wrong sweetie?" Josephine said with a devilish smirk. "This is going to be fun to watch," Hank said sitting back and taking a sip of his beer with a smile. 

"Who's file are we playing on?" Tina asked, taking the player three remote. "Mine is the only one that has your favourite character Tina," Josephine said selecting her driver's license. "Right," she said pressing the 'A' button to register her remote as player three. "Gavin? Connor? Which one of you will be player four?" Josephine asked. "I'll stay out of this one," Gavin said. Connor picked up the remote and registered it as player four. Once everyone was registered, it was time to choose their character. Josephine immediately went for Birdo, Connor went for Luigi, Tina went for Toadette and Nines hesitantly selected Yoshi. Next they had to choose their vehicles. Connor chose the Super Blooper, Tina chose the Bullet Bike, Nines chose the standard kart and Josephine chose the standard bike. Everyone chose automatic for their driving. "Which course first Connor?" Josephine asked scrolling through all the cups. "Delfino Square," Connor answered. Josephine selected it and waited for it to load. "RA9 save me," Nines muttered under his breath as the race started. 

The race was intense. Tina cursed everytime she got hit with a power up. Gavin laughed at that. Hank encouraged Connor the whole time. Nines was trying his best, but failed miserably. Josephine, however, didn't make a sound. With all the noise around her, she kept her focus on the race. She looked at Nines' frustrated face a few times and still managed to retain the lead. In the end, Josephine was first, Tina was third, Connor was fourth and Nines was eleventh. "Your turn to choose the next course Tina," Josephine said once the screen was back on the cups. "Mushroom Gorge," Tina said immediately. "Why?!?!" Nines asked. Mushroom Gorge had a lot of drop offs and Nines already couldn't drive. Josephine selected that course and soon the second race began. 

It wasn't as intense as the first race. "Bowser you jackass!" Tina yelled when Bowser bounced into Toadette and made her fall off the mushrooms. Gavin, Hank and Connor burst out laughing. Josephine giggled as she crossed the finish line. At the end of the race, Josephine was first again, Connor was third, Tina was ninth because of Bowser and Nines was twelfth. "Pick a course Nines," Josephine said once they were back at the cups. Nines thought about which course had no drop offs, lava or water you can drown in. "Luigi Circuit," he finally said. Josephine selected that course and the third race began. This race was boring because the course was very simple. Josephine still came first, Tina came second, Connor came third and Nines came seventh. He would've gotten higher if Rosalina didn't throw a bomb at him.  

"Everyone who needs a break, go now before I choose the last course," Josephine said. Tina quickly got up and ran to the bathroom. Connor followed Hank to the kitchen to get more snacks for everyone. Gavin just put his arm over his eyes and mentally prepared himself for the amount of rage he was about to see. "What's wrong Nines?" Josephine asked. "Why must you torment me so?" Nines asked. "What ever do you mean?" Josephine asked innocently. "You know that I can't play this game, yet you always choose it when it's your turn to choose the game," Nines stated. "It's fun to see you rage after," Josephine said. "You choose this game on purpose everytime?" Nines asked. "Obviously," Josephine replied. "Do I have to punsih you later?" Nines asked. "Only if you let me take a birth control pill first," Josephine replied. "Are you two seriously teasing each other infront of me?" Gavin asked. The two burst out laughing. "Sorry Gavin," Josephine said.

Tina, Hank and Connor came back and resumed their places on the couch or armchairs. Connor, Tina, Nines and Josephine picked up their respective remotes. Josephine gave one last devious smile to Nines before selecting her favourite course. Rainbow Road. "RA9 Nine save me," Nines and Connor thought. The race started and Nines fell off the course because King Boo bounced him off. Connor and Tina were at each other's throats. They kept trying to force the other off the road. "Ha! Ha!" Tina yelled when she finally got Connor off the road. She then yelled, "Shit!" when Daisy hit her with a red shell, causing her to fall off too. Gavin and Hank were wheezing at this point. Nines managed to not fall off the road again until the second lap when King Boo sped past him with star power. "Dammit," he mumbled under his breath. Tina and Connor fell off plenty of times after that happened. 

Gavin shifted his attention to Josephine during the third lap. She was so far ahead. She was doing tricks too which caused her to go even faster once she landed. "How is she so good at this?" Gavin thought. At the end of the race, Josephine was in first, Tina was in sixth, Connor was in seventh and Nines was twelfth. At the ceremony after the races, Birdo was blowing kisses at the top of the podium. Rosalina and Bowser were in second and third respectively. Tina came fifth overall, Connor came fourth overall and Nines came last. After a couple more races, everyone went home. Josephine and Nines cleaned up and went to their bedroom. Josephine closed the door behind her and Nines pinned her against it. "Ready for your punishment?" Nines asked pressing himself closer to Josephine. "You were serious?" she asked. "Of course I was," Nines said smiling devilishly. "What did I sign myself up for?" Josephine asked. "Just relax and maybe you'll be able to walk tomorrow," Nines said planting a rough kiss on her lips. Josephine gulped nervously and Nines began the punishment.
