"Mother..." Lucina said, clenching her fists as she felt her eyes start to fill with water. Her mother had been dead for months now, Sumia to be exact, and her death was unpleasant to all.

She was flying her pegasus to visit Chrom, but something had occured mid air and caused her to fall to her death. The worst part was, it wasn't the height that actually killed her. She was quite close to a building that had poles with flags on them, and when her pegasus was shot by a bow, she tumbled off, her stomach plunging right through the pole, the blood spraying as she slid down it morbidly. Unfortunately, Chrom, Lucina and Robin all witnessed it. They were all in shock, and Chrom rushed up there to get her quickly and see how badly she was stabbed. He thought she was still be alive atleast, but clinging onto life, but the pole went right through her, so there was no hope nor chance of her survival.

Keeping in mind that Chrom had just lost his older sister, Emmeryn, he was now becoming very depressed. He had just lost his sister and then his wife. He couldn't bare to lose anyone else; especially not Lucina, Lissa or Robin.

Robin. Chrom and him had a very special relationship, even when Sumia was still alive and married to her. That was because he had fallen in love with the blue haired prince even before he proposed to Sumia, upset when he did though. Robin had never revealed his jealousy to anyone however, except for Lucina. Anyway though, he never tried to split them apart or ruin anything they did together, because he wanted to stay happy for Chrom and make sure he would never hate him. And he did so. He never cried in front of him, but he did cry at times though.

"Lucina..? Are you okay?" Robin asked, knocking on the door. He entered the room and saw Lucina wiping her eyes and grabbing a tissue from a small packet she had in her drawers.

She sniffed, "yes, sorry, I'm annoyed at myself for still crying about my mothers death." Lucina blew her nose and carried on wiping her tears away. Robin smiled in sympathy and sat next to her, placing his arm around for comfort.

"No, don't be annoyed. She was your mother. You are allowed to cry as much as you want to, she didn't deserve to die. If anything, I should be the one not able to cry," Robin said, his voice coming down when saying the last part. "You have nothing to feel ashamed of."

"Robin.. when we talked about you and my father.. do you still have those feelings for him?" Lucina muttered.

Robin raised his eyebrows and his eyes widened only slightly. "Oh my.."

"It is okay if you do not.. though..."

Robin curled his lips and stood up, patting Lucina on the back. "Alright. I'm going to go speak with him right now. You stay here, weep as much as you please, I will find your father." Robin left the room and heard a loud sob emit from Lucina and he felt terrible to leave her there alone as she mourned. But, he could tell why she asked such a question and he was going to sort things out ASAP.

"Chrom..?" Robin asked, not wanting to enter right away. Chrom responded with a groan, Robin coming in after hearing it.

He was laying down on his bed, staring at the ceiling and his arms and legs spread flat out on the bed.

"Robin.. this is a bad state to see me in.. you should leave..." He said, shutting his eyes. Robin refused, huffing and sitting on the edge of Chrom's bed.

"Chrom, listen to me," Robin began, looking at the prince. "You should be there for Lucina. She's weeping as we speak right now, bawling her eyes out. You must do something to help her. Perhaps if you two were to be together and cry, it would help."

Chrom sat up and sighed, a blank expression across his face. "You're the missing parent figure she needs right now. If Sumia.. Sumia– my ex wife were still here then Lucina would spend all her time with her. That is why she turns to you so much rather than myself." The blue haired huffed. Robin's eyebrows furrowed and his lips curled inwards once more.

"Chrom.." The white haired reached a hand out to the Ylissien prince. "I want you to know that I have done so hard to be the best parent figure to Lucina so that she sees it... that way."

Chrom raised an eyebrow in confusion. "I don't understand."

"Lucina needs to see Chrom's other half. If it cannot be Sumia any longer, than she and I yearn for it to be.. myself."

"Rob–Robin..." Chrom's voice trailed and he sat up straight, gazing at those lovely brown eyes owned by the tactiction.

"Have a think, please. It would benefit all of us that witnessed the demise of Sumia that horrible day." Robin stood up and exited the room.

Chrom sat there, dumbfounded. All this time.. Robin loved him? Despite the fact he was married to Sumia for 22 years and had Lucina 4 years into their marriage.

All of a sudden Chrom realised the person who could flip his entire world around again was right there, just now sitting on his bed! He scrambled to get up and rushed out his room, approaching the hallway where he saw Robin sitting there, staring at nothing but the hardwood floor.

"Robin," Chrom began. The white haired looked at him and got up from the floor. "You and me..." The prince opened his arms for an embrace and immediately Robin fell into it. He squeezed Chrom and melted into his touch.

"I'm sorry Chrom... you don't deserve to go through this.. neither does Lucina.." Robin muttered, his voice muffled by Chrom's chest. Once they pulled away, Robin was blushing again and couldn't make direct eye contact with Chrom or it would just make him more flustered.

"I am truly sorry that my ex beloved never had a liking for you. You're an amazing man and the fact you stayed by my side at all times no matter what was the best thing that has ever happened to me. I thank you, Robin." Chrom smiled and looked back into Robin's eyes, his blue eyes matching with those brown ones again. They shared a loving gaze, making Robin fluster more.

"Chrom.." Robin murmured, his eyes averting away from Chrom's again.

This is when Lucina stepped out of her room, her eyes red and puffy from crying. Lucina saw what was going on, smiling and giggling when she saw them two. Robin saw her out of the corner of his eye the heat from his face went to his ears. As for Chrom, he continued to hold Robin's hands gently.

"Your hands are warm Robin," Chrom said softly, leaning in closer to Robin's face and catching a glimpse of his daughter. Lucina took this as a hint to give them some more privacy.

Chrom put a hand on Robin's chin, lifting it slowly and once more staring at his eyes. They bloomed like they had the sun right inside of them.

"You are beautiful. Those wonderful features; how flawless you look; your soothing voice and the way you lead is perfect.. everything about you is just perfect."

"Oh Chrom–" Robin couldn't even speak from the embarrassment he felt. Compliments were so not his thing!

"I'm sorry I never reciprocated your wonderful feelings sooner.. you have been my partner ever since Lissa and I saw you on the ground sleeping, hehe," Chrom chuckled, Robin sharing the laughe. "I love you, Robin."

Robin's heart melted and his whole world got flipped upside down. He would've never wished for Sumia's death, but he had to admit it brought him so much joy in the long term. His soulmate has realised who he wants. Chrom wants Robin. Now that they can wed themselves and be together forever.
