"My most embarrassing moment on stage was when I forgot the lyrics to my own song and made up some other lyrics," Nick tells me.
I just look at him with a look that says, 'seriously?' Like that's all. "Are you kidding me, Nick? That's not even bad." He just looks at me with this genuinely stricken face like he's reliving that memory and it's giving him war flashbacks. I can't believe him, but of course, that's the worst embarrassing moment he's been through. He's perfect.
"It was bad for me," he huffs, looking to the side. He looks a bit embarrassed now.
"For the first show of my first tour, I literally slipped on stage, somehow did the splits, and ripped a bit of my pants," I tell him with a straight face.
He looks at me, a bit horrified, but then he burst out laughing. "That's amazing!"
"Yeah, not really," I mumble.
"Remember when we first started dating?" He asks, and I nod, curious about where he was going with this. "Remember when we went roller skating on our first date?"
Oh, I did remember that, and now, thinking back to that memory, I burst out laughing.
"Yeah," he nods, chuckling a bit too. "We went roller skating, and I fell. About seven times."
"I can't believe that little kid tripped you and then laughed," I say, but I was laughing also. "That was cruel."
He didn't look hurt or even offended that I was laughing at him. In fact, he looked fond of that memory. "My butt hurt for days after that."
"Why'd you pick to go roller skating of all places if you couldn't skate?"
"Because I knew you loved roller skating."
I lean back into my chair. "I appreciated all the effort you put into roller skating though. I can't believe you tried racing me," I laugh, trying to keep my laughing down because we were kind of in a classy restaurant. "Backwards too."
"Hey, I made it halfway before I even fell," he reminds me with a determined look on his face.
"You know I want you. It's not a secret I try to hide."
