One-Shot - New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve. The night of Tony Stark's annual party that was held at the ballroom of the Avengers facility in upstate New York. Only the rich and famous attended, as well as the Avengers. This year, that would include Peter Parker, Bucky Barnes, and y/n l/n, the newest additions to the team.

Y/n was in her room looking at herself in the mirror, making sure she looked good enough before going out to the ballroom. Her h/c hair was up in a curled ponytail, she had minimal makeup on, and she wore a deep blue dress that went down just below her knees with matching heels. Y/n took a deep breath before walking out of the room.

As she walked down the hall, y/n saw Natasha and Sam walking down the hall. She caught up to them and Natasha smiled when she saw y/n.

"Wow! N/n you look great!" Nat said.

"Yeah, you look awesome!" Sam agreed.

Y/n blushed. "Thanks guys. You guys don't look too shabby yourselves."

The trio walked down the hall and to the ballroom. There were many people gathered tables drinking champagne and chatting about business and politics. Y/n, Sam, and Natasha made their way over to Wanda and Vision who were talking at one of the tables.

Meanwhile across the room, Bucky was sitting at a table with Steve, Clint, and T'Challa. As the four men talked, Bucky saw y/n from across the room. She looked stunning, not that she always did. He had liked y/n since he met her when she first joined the team earlier that year.

"It looks like someone is looking at y/n again..." T'Challa said with a grin.

Bucky looked back over at the men like nothing ever happened. "What? You guys do it all the time! Why are you suddenly calling me out?"

They all laughed. Steve put a hand on his best friend's shoulder. "Hey Buck, we're only teasing. You just gotta build up the confidence to ask her out is all."

"Hey, maybe if you're lucky, she could be your New Year's kiss." Clint pointed out.

"Whatever." Bucky rolled his eyes.

As midnight drew nearer, people became more tipsy and the usually large ballroom felt cramped and stuffy to y/n. She walked outside of the ballroom to the balcony. The doors closed behind her and y/n breathed in the fresh air. She looked out to the view of the river that was just outside of the facility.

After a few minutes, y/n heard the doors behind her opened and she saw Bucky walk out.

"Oh hey y/n. I didn't realize that you were out here." he said as he walked over to her.

Y/n smiled softly. "Yeah, it got pretty stuffy in there so I decided to come out here."

Bucky nodded in agreement. "Good idea."

The two looked at the view and talked for a while. Nobody knew it, but y/n liked Bucky a lot. Their personalities worked well together and they worked well together as a team on missions. They heard people from inside starting to count down from five.

Five...

Y/n and Bucky stopped mid-conversation when they heard the countdown. Y/n looked up at him, secretly hoping that he was thinking the same thing she was.

Four...

Bucky's blue eyes poured into y/n's e/c eyes.

Three...

He stroked her cheek with his thumb and y/n smiled softly.

Two...

"Can I kiss you?" Bucky asked.

One...

Y/n smiled up at him. "Yes you can."

As everyone in the ballroom yelled "Happy New Year!!" Bucky and y/n's lips met. They kissed for a few moments and then pulled apart. Y/n smiled up at Bucky.

"Happy New Year, Buck."

"Happy New Year, y/n."
