Chapter 14:
I ended up taking a leak in mom and dad’s master suite. I won’t dwell on it much. All I’d say is, I felt amazingly relaxed as I sauntered back into my suite.
I started reading a magazine displayed on the coffee table in the living room. After reading through the Reebok add on the side of the index, I looked up as I heard the door open up. There stood Ruby, moonflower scents rolling off her body in waves, her eyes heavy lidded. Her hair was wrapped in a towel. She yawned and said dreamily, “I’m done.”
I nodded at her and went through the door she’d just come out of. It led to the hallway to the bedrooms. I took a quick hot water shower and headed out, a towel wrapping my torso. I shoved both of our wet clothes into the laundry shaft and headed back to the living room. Ruby was curled up on the sofa, watching TV. She had a grey blanket wrapped around her shoulders. The room was dark, the only light coming through the TV.
“What do you wanna order for dinner?” I asked hastily, prying the hotel phone from off the wall behind the TV. Her blue eyes looked up at me, twinkling in the dark. She bit her lip.
“It’s going to swell up if you don’t stop doing that.” I chuckled and looked away, dialing 1. I could feel her eyes on my naked torso. I ignored them. It felt good to know that she was checking out my abs.
“Good evening, how may I help you?” I heard the receptionist speak.
“Send up the menu.” I ordered and hooked the phone back up.
I took the armchair next to the sofa and gazed at the TV, trying to ignore the electricity in the air.
Ruby smelled divine. Her lips looked blood red tonight. If only I could reach over and feel them on my lips, her tongue on my tongue...
Suddenly the doorbell rang. I got up quickly and opened the door. Snatching the menu from the bell boy, I ordered him to wait and slammed the door in his face.
I flipped on the lights and Ruby covered her eyes with one of her hands. I felt like switching them off right away after the cute, sleepy look she gave me.
I handed her the men. Her eyes glanced over every dish and then she pointed towards the third one. I nodded my head and said, “Anything else? Something to drink?” She yawned widely and stretched her arms above her heads. She bit her lip and mumbled, “No, that’s all.”
I couldn’t believe how vulnerable the usual high and mighty Ruby looked now. I sniggered, “Right princess.”
I ordered our food and switched the lights back off. I watched Ruby’s eyes close slowly and when they were completely closed, I switched the TV off. I drew the armchair towards the front of the leather sofa and stared at her, my eyes haven gotten adjusted to the dark. Suddenly, the moon was out of the clouds. She looked soft in the moonlight streaming in through the window.
Man, here eyelashes were long. The curved upwards beautifully, sitting innocently on her cheeks as she dozed off. With the towel wrapped around her head, I realized that I missed her usual tumble of curly hair. I smiled. I placed one finger on the mole on her cheek and I heard her sigh. I gently pulled my finger back. Was she awake?
I decided to touch her tiny mole again. It wasn’t like those ugly moles you see popping out of people’s faces. It was a subtle spot, undetectable by touch. I had a mole like that in the confines of my left palm. I wondered if Ruby had any more of these beauty spots on her body.
She didn’t wake as I traced my finger over her soft cheek. My eyes slipped below her neck.
The front of her robe had slightly parted. I groaned as my eyes caught an amazingly fair and deep cleavage. My heart started to pound in my ears and the first thing I thought was, MINE.
