Augmented 5th: 8 semitones.
Diminished 5th: 6 semitones.

So, we know that a Major triad, such as Cmaj, has a its root note, C, its second note a major 3rd from its root note, E and a third note a perfect 5th from its root note, G. C, E, G. We also know this is the same for minors, but the second note is a minor 3rd from the root note instead of a major 3rd. Now we will look at augmented and diminished triads.
For an augmented triad, the second note is always a major 3rd away from the root note, and the third note is always an augmented 5th away from the root note. For example; Caug:
