“Basically he wants us to hurry up on their training,” Captain Redmen angrily said.

“Amari, why are you right here?” Etta whispered scaring her. Amarissa had jumped a little without bumping into the door.

Amari turned around to face Etta. She was standing behind the door. She was outside in the back of the Trainee building. All three of the Captains were inside. All of the Trainee had gotten back forty minutes ago that as when everyone was sent outside while the Captains discussed about something inside. “I’m just curious. Of what they were saying? I’m not use to standing this close to ease drop,” She answered Etta’s question.

“Here, I mean follow me. I have to show you something.”

Amari followed Etta to the side of the building. “Okay? What is this about?” Amarissa asked Etta. It was odd that Etta wanted to show her something.

“I thought I will not find anyone else with pink hair.” She pulled out a hair pin from the back of her hair. She pulled a lock of pink hair in her brown hair over her shoulder. “I just have a lock of it and you. You have a head full of pink. You must have all of the abilities that come with it.”

“Abilities?” Amarissa asked.

“Yes. Abilities!” Etta exclaimed. Amarissa did not know what she was talking about.

Abilities was what Subtonians had and each one was different expect for the ancient Abilities. They were pretty much the same. Etta must had known the ability for the pink color of hair and she must be hiding it.

“You are not making much sense about the abilities that come with my pink hair,” Amarissa did the quotation with her two fingers when she said the abilities.

Etta face-palmed and sighed. She had whispered something that Amarissa could not hear her. She started to pin up her hair back up and warned, “Don’t tell anyone that I have a lock of pink hair. I will do something horrible to you. Do you understand me?”

“Okay. I won’t tell. Just not anytime soon.”

“So you will tell! I’m going to hurt you now!” Etta exclaimed and came after Amari moved to one side and stuck out her right foot making Etta fall to the ground. She turned around to see Captain Redmen standing with her arms crossed. She was not happy to see them goofing off like children.

“We have training to do come now the both of you!” Captain Redmen angrily ordered. She had her eyebrows crossed and with her arms.

“Yes, ma’am!” They both exclaimed in unison. Etta was already on her feet and dusting off her legs. Amarissa watched her for a moment and then looked over at Captain Redmen.

“If you got something to say, Pinkie. All you have to do is say it.” Captain Redmen ordered her. Amarissa didn’t like being called Pinkie, so she decided to give her a smart remark.

“I whether not say anything.”

“You are really hard-headed.”

“I think of myself as open-minded. I like speaking my mind whether than keeping my mouth shut,” Amarissa smiled. She was just trying to make Captain Redmen irritated with her. Amarissa wanted to see how long it took for Captain Redmen to get irritated.

“Can you stop talking and follow me?” Captain Redmen snapped at Amarissa's comment.

Amarissa closed her mouth and pressed her lips together. Amarissa placed hands behind her back to keep herself from showing Captain Redmen that she was clinching her fists. She forced a smiled and slightly narrowed her eyebrows.

It was late at night when the Captains decided that the trainees were done training for the day. Amarissa was lent up against a wall breathing heavily. Where she was at was in a darker area. In fact everyone was tired from all of the training that the captains done. Amarissa got told that it took several years of practice to get as good as the other captains. Instead of those years of practice, she just needed a couple of years to practice her swordsmanship. It was only practice so she only did half of what she knew.

She knew if she kept to this one spot Phoenixes would come attack her. I really don’t care if they come after me. There was a light drizzle of rain coming down. She felt cool while the raindrops fell on her face and head. There was a little light coming of the tiny Glow’flies. They natural glowed three different colors every night. The only catch for the Glow’flies is that they only come out in the rain.

“Why you are standing away from everyone? I thought you would be around Jody, Catherine or Etta?” her captain asked he had walked over toward her. She glanced over at him.

“Just wanted to be away from the crowd.” Her Captain placed two of his fingers on her lips to stop her from speaking.

“I want the real reason,” he ordered. He had lifted his eyebrows and slightly squinted his eyes to gaze fully at her. He removed his fingers to let her answer him.

“To make sure there will not be a fight. I’m sure you don’t want to break up a fight all because someone said something to me that caused me to mock them. Which results to them throwing a punch at me. Then that concluding me to dodge their attacks because they are slow.” She looked off to the side.

He sighed after her explanation. He opened his mouth, closed it, and begun to laugh. He spoke through his laughter, “Is that the real reason why you do not want to stand inside the crowd?”

She nodded slowly. I’m being serious and he is not taking it seriously. She reached over to grab his wrist. After she tightened her grip, she bite his hand. He yanked his hand back from her leaving red marks where her teeth had scraped along against his skin.

“Why did you do that?” he asked while covering up the red spot on the back of his hand.

“Because you did not take me seriously,” She gave her honest reason why done so. She crossed arms. She took a deep breath.

“That did not mean you bite me,” he said in disbelief.

“It did get your attention. Now did it?” She continued with her crossing of her arms. She stood on her tiptoes and then settled back on her heels.

“Fine! It did. I just wanted a normal conversation with you and not an argument.”

“Come one ladies time to go in,” Etta ordered to them. She was more experienced than the others so she was the one to call them to go inside. Both her and her captain looked over at them.

“I have to go inside now.” Amarissa softly smiled. She kind of wanted to stay outside but she knew that she needed to go inside.

“See you tomorrow morning,” Trent said while moving his hair from his face. The light rain made part of his hair curled right above his eyes. He smiled back toward her.

“Most definitely you will see me tomorrow morning,” She replied with a bigger smile.

Etta was still standing by the double doors. Amarissa walked up toward her with a smile placed on her face. Her face expression was softly hung against her eyes which were half opened with her teeth barely visible. “You seem very happy. So who caught your fancy?” Etta asked.

Amarissa face expression changed dramatically. Her eyes widen. She felt her cheeks turn red hot. “What! No one. Why would you ever say that?”

“Why are you so embarrassed then? It looks like you just got caught doing something utterly unspeakable. It is okay to like someone.”

“What who likes what now?” Jody cut in the conversation.

“Jody when did you join in this conversation?” Etta asked.

“It would be how long have you been listening, Jody?” Amarissa corrected the question that was asked. She looked off to the side and saw Trent talking to the other two captains. She felt her heart began to race again. She hated the what she was feeling.

“Not long maybe forty two seconds after your conversation had gotten interesting,” Jody replied to the question.

All of the ladies had went up to the third story of the building. Leaving just Etta, Jody and Amarissa on the first floor. The ladies were the first to go up the stairs. It was mainly because they had more stairs to walk up. Amarissa was in the back with Jody and Etta. The three started up the stairs when Jody started mumbling something. “Amari?” Jody asked. Amarissa looked over at her. She had a particular expression. She had a straight face with her eyes

“What is it? I know that I should have ate dinner but I wasn’t hungry.” She really was not hungry when it was time for dinner. Dinner was in the middle of their training time. By that time Amarissa was not hungry.

“I’m going up see you two there,” Etta said and continued up the staircase.

“Its not that. Eating food is your problem. You are very special and not yet know it. Your memories will come back slowly and then all at once. Remember to look for someone who hasn’t changed from your abilities.”

“Okay? You are just talking nonsense to me.”

“I mean well to you.”

“Nonsense. You are just utter nonsense.” Amarissa tried not to chuckle at Jody. It actually worked she did not show any facially expressions.

“You will know who I am and what you are. Also, you will know each main ability and what color they belong to.”

“I’m just going to my room and just try to forget what you said to me. Because my mother tried to say to me that I was unique and special but I don’t see it.”

“You will be a very high ruler when the time comes.”

“Good Night.”Amarissa wasn’t going to fall for that trick. She was trying not to chuckle at Jody. She was trying to be nice to Amari, but telling Amarissa that she was going to be queen is a funny joke. She began her way to the third floor to her room. She made it to the third floor without being interrupt again. Etta was standing by the door to the ladies’ rooms.

Amarissa almost cleared the entrance. “Really, who caught your fancy?” Etta asked.

“It was no one.”

“No one I can't take you seriously because you are still smiling.” Etta turned very serious. “Is it one of the captains? Wait, is it Captain Blackthorn?”

“No, I said it’s nobody,” Amarissa said. She was about to freak out. She did not want to like anyone.

“Don't panic. I'm only guessing. If anyone asks if you like him, just tell them that you are partners with him and have no choice in the matter to like him. Then they will think that you were force to like but in no other matters. But if you do like him, you can only talk to him like a good friend and nothing more. I know that almost every girl here likes him that is because he is single and good-looking.” Etta paused. “Tell no one that I said that.”

“Uhm… yes ma'am,” Amarissa confusedly said. “I don't like anyone. He just gets on my nerves.”

“That is okay,” Etta said while placing her hands in front of her shoulders, “Just go to bed I bet you are tired.”

Amarissa shook her head softly, “Night, Etta.” She continued to her room. Every lady was walking back and forth from each room. They were talking to each other and laughing at little jokes that they had told each other. Some of the jokes were very silly.  The pink head just shook her head and continued to her room. She didn't want to stay with the others. She wanted to stay out of the range of questions.
